New York Governor Calls Trump Supporters "Anti-American"
Listen tothis article
On the eve of the 2024 presidential election, the divisive rhetoric against President Donald Trump’s supporters continues. New York Governor Kathy Hochul just labeled Republicans as “anti-American” and “anti-woman.” Don’t forget that she also called Trump supporters “clowns” earlier this year. Of course, this comes on the heels of President Biden’s “garbage” comments and Mark Cuban’s claims that conservative women are stupid and weak.
Is this divisive rhetoric going to pay off for the far Left? Consider New York state for a minute. Governor Hochul just basically labeled probably 35–40% of her citizens as anti-American. It’s ridiculous. No wonder so many people are leaving states like New York when their elected officials openly voice disdain for them. Tomorrow we’ll see how the constant demagoguing of conservatives affects the election results.
Amid the chaos surrounding the presidential election is the debate over Israel. ACLJ Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabonexpounded on the Biden-Harris Administration’s conflicting message regarding support of Israel:
[The Harris campaign is] trying to talk out of both sides of their mouth to two different constituencies that they feel they need in important swing states. . . . They’re trying to maintain a longtime Democratic talking point, which is simply false, which is you can be pro-Palestinian two states (or pro-Palestinian state) and also be pro-Israel. . . . The Palestinians . . . have never accepted any offers for coexistence with Israel. Never, no matter how gracious they were . . . because Palestinian is not an ethnicity [or] nationality. It’s an ideology created in the middle of the last century after the Holocaust failed to wipe out the Jews. . . . And so that’s why you see people always wonder why they won’t take a two-state solution because they exist, as they say, “from the river to the sea” to completely wipe out Israel and the Jewish people. . . . And that is the message that doesn’t really jive when Harris is saying we support them having their own state.
It will be fascinating to see how states like Michigan, which has a strong Muslim population, vote tomorrow. As we’ve noted, many Muslim voters are upset that the Biden-Harris Administration has voiced minor support for Israel. Will that keep them from showing up for Harris?
The ACLJ has been working in overdrive to defend election integrity for the last couple of weeks. Here’s a brief breakdown of all the work we’ve done to ensure that we have a free and fair election:
We filed an amicus brief at the U.S. Supreme Court to keep noncitizens off the voting rolls in Virginia. We are thankful that the Supreme Court Justices agreed with the arguments of our brief and rightfully allowed Virginia to remove the noncitizens from their voting rolls.
We filed our latest amicus brief at the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals to argue that Special Counsel Jack Smith should be disqualified from his prosecution of President Trump. His ongoing prosecution is clearly a political weaponization of the criminal justice system.
We’ve launched an Election Integrity Hotline to offer assistance to those who encounter trouble on Election Day. We are manning the hotline ready to provide legal assistance.
All of these efforts are to stop the far Left’s egregious attacks on our elections. If the far Left is successful, our constitutional republic could descend into a banana republic. We must protect American democracy for generations to come.
We can’t stop the far Left from interfering in our elections without you. Donations made are doubled to fund our fight to preserve election integrity – give today. Also, even though Election Day is tomorrow, you can still personally join us in fighting against election interference. Visit our election integrity action page to sign our petition and get involved. And finally, download our limited-time ACLJ Election Prayer Guide and pray for our nation during this time.
