Uncovered FBI Files Reveal Wide Targeting of Christians
Listen tothis article
Newly released records reveal that previous FBI Director Christopher Wray’s agency was targeting Catholics to an even greater degree than previously known. According to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (IA), more than 1,000 FBI employees received the Richmond memo, about which Wray testified before Congress, claiming a rogue field office had targeted Christians. Sen. Grassley is urging new FBI Director Kash Patel to take action.
The ACLJ immediately responded when the Deep State FBI’s unlawful targeting of Christians was revealed. As you may recall, the FBI was even planting spies in churches to monitor what pastors preached from the pulpit.
Wray’s congressional testimony was proven to be untrue, as multiple field offices nationwide had participated in targeting Christians. And now the latest bombshell by Sen. Grassley shows that even more offices were ordered to target people of faith. This is not to say that all FBI agents were corrupt under the Biden Administration; however, many feared for their careers and felt compelled to follow directives.
In 2023, we filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request demanding answers, and we are still receiving information even today about the despicable targeting of Christians. We also began representing FBI whistleblowers who were brave enough to expose the Deep State’s corruption. We won on behalf of FBI Staff Operations Staff Specialist Marcus Allen, and we continue to seek justice for FBI Special Agent Garret O’Boyle.
With the new revelations, the ACLJ just filed a new FOIA to go even deeper into the FBI’s assault on religious liberty. We’re investigating how and why religious organizations and Americans are under surveillance. We will point the new leaders in the DOJ in the right direction to ensure that this Deep State surveillance of Christians ceases.
Also, the ACLJ’s legal work is paying dividends in the pro-life movement. A few weeks ago, we sent letters to Members of Congress, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary to highlight the undeniable dangers posed by chemical abortion pills.
Former President Biden and the most pro-abortion FDA in history initiated a reckless expansion of abortion pills (mifepristone) that severely endangered the lives of countless women and children alike, willfully ignoring evidence of dangerous side effects in a blind pursuit of abortion expansion at all costs. Our letters urged both Congress and the Trump Administration to roll back this dangerous deregulation of abortion pills.
Concrete data shows that chemical abortion not only ends the life of an unborn child but also risks the lives of women. In 2022, chemical abortions accounted for 63% of abortions (642,700 babies) in the U.S. And the statistics of the dangers posed to women are equally alarming: 11% of women who took these abortion pills suffered very severe adverse health effects leading to hospitalization – 22% higher than the FDA’s label indicates.
We are excited to report that, as a result of our letter, the new FDA Commissioner has promised to launch an investigation into the dangers posed by the abortion pill. This is the second time in less than a month that HHS has responded to the ACLJ’s work, promising to investigate hospitals that are forcing pro-life medical professionals to participate in abortions. We are very pleased with how the Trump Administration is taking direct action to protect the unborn, thanks to our legal work.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of Senator Grassley revealing that over 1,000 FBI employees received the directive to target Christians. We also gave an update on our new federal lawsuit filed on behalf of pro-life advocate Zack Knotts. ACLJ Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabon reacted to the rising violence against Jewish Americans.
