New York Attorney General Letitia James is joining other far-Left attorneys general to file a lawsuit against the Trump Administration’s Department of Health and Human Services. AG James claims that the department’s potential cuts to healthcare services endanger too many Americans: “The White House is threatening our way of life in so many ways, and I just want you to know that in the coming days we will be filing a lawsuit against [HHS].”

Of course, AG James was one of the leaders in the far Left’s lawfare against President Trump during the 2024 election cycle. And a few weeks ago, the news broke about AG James facing possible criminal prosecution over alleged mortgage fraud. You might think this would be a good time for AG James to fly under the radar. But no, she’s back in the limelight going after President Trump yet again.

Remember, these are potential cuts to HHS. The federal funding for the programs is still in the House budget. So this preemptive lawsuit is completely theoretical. And perhaps some of the proposed cuts to programs like Meals on Wheels might be worth debating. But more than likely, AG James wants to be back in the public conversation to combat the negative press she’s received.

Such ridiculous far-Left lawsuits are somewhat related to the ongoing nationwide injunctions against President Trump’s Administration. In fact, 67% of all nationwide injunctions in U.S. history have been against the Trump White House. That’s why the ACLJ is currently taking action at the U.S. Supreme Court to stop the out-of-control lawfare against Trump’s agenda.

In other breaking news, just before we went on the air, President Trump posted that he “just had a very good and productive telephone conversation” with the president of Turkey. He also mentioned how his Administration had helped rescue imprisoned Pastor Andrew Brunson.

The ACLJ worked with the Trump Administration, including former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell, to return Brunson to the United States. On today’s broadcast, Ric explained the importance of ongoing talks between the U.S. and Turkey:

Turkey is a NATO ally of ours. They’ve been a member of NATO since 1952. And we’ve had a series of different types of relationships with Turkey. I believe that we need to keep the Turks very close, that we need to coordinate more, and we need to have a better policy. We clearly have some rough policy issues with them right now. We need to pressure the Turks to have a better relationship with Israel. We need the Turks to play a constructive role within NATO, and I do think that they have been helpful. Certainly, Erdogan is the Putin whisperer. He can help us when it comes to Russia. And I think a powerful force of Trump and Erdogan together could really solve a lot of our problems in the Middle East and make a lot more progress on the Ukraine issue.

We will keep an eye on further talks between President Trump and President Erdogan.

The ACLJ also has important updates in three cases to protect the unborn. First, we have a hearing this week regarding a Motion to Dismiss our lawsuit in Massachusetts. If you remember, we filed a lawsuit against the state of Massachusetts for its taxpayer-funded smear campaign against Pregnancy Resource Centers. We also launched a $500,000 counter-campaign to fight the lies being spread about these lifesaving centers for women in need.

Second, we are preparing for the trial of Zach Knotts, who was unlawfully cited while peacefully advocating for the unborn outside a Planned Parenthood facility in Ohio. Our client did everything by the book yet faces prosecution for a noise violation. We must win this fight to protect the First Amendment rights of all pro-life advocates.

Third, we are filing a preliminary injunction in our federal lawsuit against Carbondale, Illinois, after a pro-life advocate was threatened with citation and arrest outside a Planned Parenthood there. Our lawyers intervened in real-time to de-escalate the situation and stop the arrest. Afterward, we sent a legal demand letter to Carbondale, insisting that our client’s First Amendment rights not be infringed upon in the future. The city ignored our demand letter, so we filed a federal lawsuit.

So the ACLJ is working in overdrive to protect the unborn. We are like firefighters having to put out small legal fires nationwide that, if not put out, will only spread to inflict more damage to your rights.
