Planned Parenthood’s Spin Factory Tries to Disguise Its Abortion Factory

There are moments in life that you come across something that just confounds your senses, where you pause momentarily to try to soak in exactly what you’ve just witnessed.  Does it match your worldview or is it in direct violation?  Does it pluck at your heartstrings genuinely or is it fundamentally deceptive?  Does it drive your soul toward compassion or wrath?

I had one of these moments when recently watching a television commercial produced by Planned Parenthood that depicted a woman choking back tears as she told how an abortionist was to thank for her becoming a mother.  She tearfully expressed her gratitude for the “physician” who sent her home the day she went in for an abortion to sleep on her decision, and that if it weren’t for Planned Parenthood, she would have gone for a back-alley abortion and she wouldn’t be a mother today.

The first thing that struck me was gratefulness - gratefulness that this woman chose life for her little son.

Secondly, I also felt a strange sort of gratitude towards that particular abortionist for asking this expectant mother to take time to think on it because it meant it gave her time for reflection which ultimately led her to make the right decision – life.

The third striking feature was how accurately the video depicted the spectacular connection that a mother and child share through the use of beautiful imagery of her playing with her young son. It’s a connection like no other – a connection I know all too well with my own daughter.

But what started to muddle the semi-warm feelings was the claim that Planned Parenthood was to thank for giving her the beautiful gift of motherhood when it is an organization that rips the honor of motherhood from 323,999 mothers annually, an organization that takes the chance at life from 323,999 little ones annually.

Just because one Planned Parenthood abortionist afforded one woman time for reflection, that does not mean the whole organization is dedicated to motherhood.  Of 324,000 babies, 323,999 were killed and 1 was saved.  One life was saved because one abortionist didn’t do her job.  That doesn’t prove Planned Parenthood is pro-motherhood.  It proves it is pro-death.

And the most striking piece was at the core of the video: exploitation.

Planned Parenthood had the gall to use the story of one woman who was grateful for the time given to choose life as “proof” that it will help women make the “right” decision for themselves.

And not only did Planned Parenthood exploit that woman’s story, it exploited you – the viewer.  By fully and accurately depicting the true beauty of motherhood, it sought to exploit your emotions and good sense for its gain.  It meant to trick you into believing that it too was beautiful and truthful and loving.  Like motherhood is.

It’s exploitation.

And it is a lie.  All of the evidence points against Planned Parenthood.

If it was really pro-motherhood it would widely provide prenatal care, which it clearly does not as we discuss here.

If it was really pro-motherhood it wouldn’t have only referred 2,024 adoptions – a 1 to 160 adoption to abortion ratio – as it reports in its annual report here.

If it was really pro-motherhood it would strive to ensure a greater number of women walk out of their clinic doors with their motherhood intact, rather than ripping motherhood from an astronomical number of women each year.

No, Planned Parenthood isn’t pro-motherhood.  It isn’t even pro-woman.  It’s pro-death.  It’s pro-its own bottom-line.

Join with the ACLJ to ensure this disastrous organization – and the rest of Big Abortion – doesn’t get one more dime of our tax dollars.  I for one am done paying for the destruction of motherhood and the death of innocent children.
