Key Democrat Loses Primary
Listen tothis article
Last night, U.S. Representative Cori Bush (MO-1) became the second “Squad” member to lose a Democrat primary race in 2024 (losing to Wesley Bell). What does this primary loss indicate about Vice President Kamala Harris’ decision to select Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate instead of Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro?
First, “Squad” member Rep. Jamaal Bowman (NY-16) was booted out of office after losing to a pro-Israel candidate (remember, he once pulled the fire alarm during a vote), and now the same has happened to Bush, who was an even higher-profile “Squad” member. Both of the losses are huge wins for America because we don’t need pro-Hamas leaders in Congress.
Ironically, Bush responded to the loss by openly threatening her political opponents, sounding like a member of Hamas herself:
All you did was take some of the strings off. Because now, there are some strings that I have attached. And as much as I love my job, all they did was radicalize me. And so they should be afraid. . . . AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee), I’m coming to tear your kingdom down!
It’s troubling to hear such antisemitic rhetoric coming from an incumbent candidate in America.
Especially with so much chatter circulating that Governor Shapiro was not picked as Harris’ running mate because of his Jewish ethnicity. For example, CNN’s Jake Tapper and Audie Cornish debated if Shapiro’s Jewishness and the fact that he spoke out against the pro-Hamas riots hurt him. It’s hard to fathom we’re hearing such debates on national network news in 2024.
Last night, Walz went on stage and thanked Harris for “bringing back the joy.” So he finds joy in the fact that he was picked solely not to offend pro-Hamas supporters in the Democrat Party?
The people most excited about the Walz choice were the anti-Israel faction of his party, including “Squad” members AOC and Ilhan Omar, and if that faction is powerful enough to influence a VP pick, then it has too much power. The Democrats need to clean house and get rid of the antisemitism.
We’re a country founded on Judeo-Christian values. If the far Left is going after Jews, then they’re going after the founding moral principles of America – and Christians will be next.
We also have some big news about UNRWA (The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) and the ACLJ’s legal work opposing funding for the organization. Recently, UNRWA was forced to fire nine employees who were found to be active participants in the Hamas massacre of October 7.
Another shocking fact from the investigation revealed that 10% of the approximately 12,000 UNRWA employees in Gaza have a verified connection to Hamas. This percentage doesn’t include the thousands who have family ties to Hamas. Again, these are connections to bloodthirsty terrorists who murdered more than 1,200 Jews, including innocent women and children.
Though the Trump Administration paused UNRWA’s cash flow in 2018, almost immediately, the Biden Administration restarted the funding. Since then, U.S. taxpayers have forked over nearly $1 billion.
On December 6, 2023, the European Centre for Law and Justice sent a letter to the U.N.’s Independent Commission of Inquiry demanding an investigation into UNRWA after Hamas was caught using the group’s facilities for military purposes. UNRWA also received a cash drop of $73 million just weeks before the October 7 attack.
In January 2024, the Biden Administration “paused” funding for UNRWA until the investigation into the employees’ involvement in the October 7 attack was completed. Upon hearing this, the ACLJ filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request and subsequent FOIA lawsuit to demand answers about the investigation.
The Biden-Harris Administration’s recent Joint Status Report filed with the court stated: “Defendant’s preliminary searches have resulted in more than 58,000 (and counting) potentially responsive records” related to UNRWA funding, UNRWA employees, and Hamas (which will supposedly take 150 years to process). Is there any doubt that the U.S. shouldn’t be funding this U.N. agency that employs terrorists?
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of the most recent radical “Squad” member who lost the Democrat primary. We also discussed the ACLJ’s work regarding UNRWA. ACLJ Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabon reacted to the blatant antisemitism on display in the mainstream media and Congress.
