Vice President Kamala Harris selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her VP choice for the 2024 presidential election. Will Walz’s liberal history fire up the far-Left wing of the Democratic Party, or will it alienate voters?

Well, many of us thought it would be an astronaut Senator from Arizona or a Jewish governor from Pennsylvania – both key battleground states in the election. However, Kamala picked the Minnesota governor in a state that hasn’t gone red in decades.

I wasn’t shocked because Walz has been included in every shortlist of possible picks for Harris’ running mate, but he’s always been at the back of the list. I just don’t consider Minnesota a problem state for Kamala. So it’s a head-scratcher on the surface, but once you start looking into Walz’s record, you won’t find much daylight between Harris’ and Walz’s radical policies.

Walz was in the National Guard for 24 years, a former schoolteacher, a six-term congressman in the House, and has been a two-term governor of Minnesota. The Left will try to sell Walz as a folksy Midwesterner, but it’s far from the truth. During his time in office he has shifted to embracing fully radical liberal policies, and, most recently, is the guy who started calling conservatives “weird.”

He even has a history of mocking the rural areas of Minnesota  (“mostly rocks and cows that are in that red area”) while governor in 2017. So unless you come from Minneapolis, Walz doesn’t have time for you. Most notably, he was governor during George Floyd’s death and the ensuing riots and burning down of parts of Minneapolis, so maintaining law and order are not priorities for Walz.

Honestly, conservatives are probably somewhat relieved by this pick. He’s such a radical choice that shouldn’t appeal to moderate voters. For example, he believes in abortion on demand up to birth and wants Minnesota to be a sanctuary city.

Kamala’s selection is a clear attempt to fire up the pro-Hamas faction of her party. It definitely erases any issues she might have faced by choosing a Jewish running mate. Is this selection a gift for Trump’s campaign?

Senator Marsha Blackburn (TN) explained Walz’s radical history:

I served in the House with Tim Walz. He was a regular . . . vote for Nancy Pelosi and her agenda in the House. And one of those main agendas that Pelosi was trying to push, of course, was the climate agenda and that radical doing away with fossil fuels by moving to wind and solar. . . . And [while governor] in Minnesota, he put stricter emission standards on SUVs, cars, and trucks and tried to align himself with California on that. He went so far as to push to do away with fossil fuels by 2040. He didn’t want anything other than EVs in Minnesota. And as we saw this past year, the electric car chargers froze, and [many] people could not even charge an electric vehicle in Minnesota. . . . He wants to do away with private health insurance. He wants to push for universal health care, and . . . is always trying to weaken election safeguards. And . . . most problematic is the way that he has dealt with illegal immigration. He wants to give them health care, . . . pay for their college tuition, . . . and give them voting rights. These are all positions that, as governor, he has taken.

In other words, Harris chose the person that aligns with her most philosophically. Though the media has tried to rewrite Harris’ radical history in the Senate, the truth remains that she had the most liberal voting record in the Senate – and Walz is right in step with her.

The ACLJ has an update on our fight against the shocking revelation that the Department of Defense has been labeling pro-life advocates as “terrorists” in an Army briefing. In fact, after our FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) request, we found out this labeling has occurred for at least seven years.

We just sent a legal letter demanding that the Army immediately apologize and acknowledge in writing that none of the pro-life organizations it named are considered domestic terrorists. It must provide assurances that such baseless labeling and training will not reoccur.

And as you know, Kamala has been praised for being the first Vice President to visit a Planned Parenthood facility. If she wins the presidency, you can bet on further targeting of pro-life advocates.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of VP Harris’ radical selection as her running mate. Also, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reflected on his history with Tim Walz in Congress, calling him a “deeply unserious” choice.
