Former FBI Director Comey Goes on Tirade Ahead of Investigation Bombshell

Former FBI Director James Comey has been openly criticizing current FBI Director Kash Patel and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino. However, Patel told Fox News’ Brett Baier that he “won’t be lectured” by the former FBI chief.

Comey made headlines a couple of weeks ago with his cryptic Instagram message “8647.” Then he took it down, claiming that he was unaware of its connotations with violently removing President Trump.

Then Comey hit the interview circuit, emphasizing his lack of faith in the current FBI leadership. In reference to Patel and Bongino, Comey told MSNBC’s Jen Psaki:

The guy has literally nothing in his entire adult life that prepares him for the role. So that’s deeply concerning to start with. In a way, I kind of feel a bit sorry for the guy. He’s barked at the FBI nonsense for years, and now he not only caught the car, he’s got to drive the car. And so that is a daunting task for him. I hope he lets the career people do their jobs.

So Comey basically called Patel a dog to Psaki. That’s not a great look for the former director of the FBI.

Patel responded to Comey’s criticism:

You know, the FBI is bigger than any leader it’s ever had or ever will have. And James Comey is a private citizen. And he can walk around the beach and talk about seashells and Crayola crayons for all I care about, and talk about how we’re the conspiracy theorists. But I’ll just remind the American people of one thing: When that man was the leader of the FBI, he perpetrated the largest criminal conspiracy, packaged political information from overseas, took it to a federal FISA court, and illegally surveilled a political opponent. So, I won’t be lectured on how to run this FBI from that man.

Patel also expressed, “I’ve been living rent-free in that guy’s head. So that’s a bonus.” Patel is clearly not intimidated by Comey’s criticisms, and he isn’t afraid to remind the public of Comey’s involvement in “Crossfire Hurricane.”

Thus far, Patel hasn’t conducted many interviews, and it’s great to see the seriousness with which he approaches the job. Also, during the interview, he spoke on the infamous Epstein files and other cold cases that the FBI is seeking to resolve. So we are seeing a great deal of transparency from the FBI, which was severely lacking under the previous Administration.

The FBI will operate by the book and conduct its investigations properly. This directly conflicts with former FBI Director Christopher Wray’s obstructing evidence in relation to “Crossfire Hurricane” or unlawfully targeting Christians.

Speaking of more Deep State FBI corruption, a recently declassified document shows that Nellie Ohr, a Fusion GPS operative, lied during congressional testimony. And though the FBI had full knowledge of Ohr’s perjury, it never prosecuted her.

My dad, ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, who defended President Trump during the impeachment trial, reacted to the news:

A lot of this was the basis of the whole Mueller probe, and that's where the Steele dossier came in. But it ties exactly into what Kash Patel said and what others are now saying: The FBI was run with a political agenda. And just think about this rationally: An investigation of the first candidate for President, and then the President of the United States, is conducted by a guy named Christopher Steele, an agent of the FBI, not an FBI agent, but a paid-for operative of the FBI who funnels information supposedly. To who? Nellie Ohr from Fusion GPS, who happens to be the wife of Bruce Ohr. Who was he? He was the number four at the Justice Department . . . .

And when you see this, and all of the loss of trust that the American people have now for these institutions, that is what Kash Patel and Dan Bongino and everyone else in the Administration is trying to rebuild that trust with the American people.

The failures of Comey and Wray sunk the FBI to new lows. I hope that Patel continues to guide the FBI in a transparent manner that restores the American public’s faith in the DOJ.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of FBI Director Kash Patel’s rebuking of former FBI Director James Comey’s criticism.
