Remember when we reported that Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta (Facebook), casually revealed on Joe Rogan’s podcast that the Deep State FBI pressured the platform to scrub any posts that might be damaging to Joe Biden, instructing Zuckerberg to throttle the New York Post’s report on Hunter Biden’s laptop? Now Zuckerberg has admitted in an official letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (OH-4) that his company indeed caved to the Biden-Harris Administration’s pressure to censor social media content (e.g., posts about COVID-19). The release of this bombshell letter is nothing short of a big win for Trump and conservatives.

Zuckerberg admitted to having regrets about succumbing to the White House’s censorship orders:

I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it.

Usually, such mea culpas by prominent figures are half-hearted, but Zuckerberg’s tone in the letter connotes actual remorse at Meta’s behavior.

It appears to be a new day for Meta. Zuckerberg says his company acted wrongly regarding the Hunter Biden story and has since changed its policies. Also, Zuckerberg claims that he and Meta will remain “neutral” going forward. In other words, Meta will no longer capitulate to the federal government and censor social posts on the platform.

Many are debating what prompted Zuckerberg’s change of heart. It looks like the Republicans could maintain the House, win the Senate, and possibly win the White House again. Could he be worried about a Republican-controlled Congress and White House holding him accountable?

From a personal perspective, we’ve seen clear throttling on the ACLJ’s Facebook channels in the last couple of years. At one time, we got thousands of likes and comments on Facebook posts, and we’ve noticed a sizable decline in audience engagement. We know that if we use certain words, the Facebook algorithms and fact-checkers will quash our posts from being seen by our ACLJ followers on Facebook. Hopefully, in the days ahead, we’ll be able to share our content more freely.

Also, Big Tech refusing to censor conservatives ensures stronger election integrity in the 2024 presidential election. Many have postulated that Facebook quashing the Hunter Biden story helped propel President Biden to office. Knowing that the truth won’t be suppressed about VP Harris and President Trump is a win for everyone.

That’s why hearing Zuckerberg’s decision to change Meta’s policies is so encouraging. No one should be afraid to have their voice censored on social media – and the truth should be shared freely.

ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell explains why Zuckerberg’s admission isn’t enough:

Facebook, which is now called Meta, which owns Instagram, has the best lobbyists, spin artists, and lawyers in the world. . . . The reality is that this is their spin. Their lawyers and their lobbyists are trying to get in front of a story because they know that the conservatives are about to take over, and we need to deal with this. No one is above the law. This is not good enough. This is too late.

This started in 2016. I would ask just simply of the lobbyists: Why didn’t you do this in 2017, 2018? When you knew we were saying you were silencing and going after conservatives. Why didn’t you say it then? Because you were too afraid, and you believed in this initiative. You wanted to silence conservatives because the majority of the board and the majority of the executives at Meta, at Facebook, [and] at Instagram are all far Lefties. We know this from whistleblowers. We know this from Marc Andreessen, who has come forward to say the board is a mess over there. And so, this isn’t good enough. People need to be prosecuted.

No one is above the law, and the censorship has been going on for years. The ACLJ has a history of fighting back against censorship of conservatives on social media. We filed an amicus brief at the U.S. Supreme Court to fight back against the Biden-Harris Administration’s pressuring Big Tech to silence conservatives online. We will never stop fighting for the First Amendment right to free speech.

The ACLJ can’t fight to protect conservatives’ free speech without the faithful support of our members. We are in the final days of our Life & Liberty Drive. Gifts are doubled – donate today to fund our legal efforts.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s shocking admission of censoring conservatives. ACLJ Senior Counsel for Global Affairs Mike Pompeo also reacted to the dangers of Big Tech censorship.
