Pro-Hamas protesters swarmed Washington, D.C., to voice their outrage at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress, leading to several arrests. Amid the chaos, anti-Israel protesters removed the three American flags at Union Station and burned one, prompting House Republicans to replace the fallen flags. They also defaced the Christopher Columbus Memorial Fountain with graffiti proclaiming, “Hamas is coming.” That’s right, not just pro-Palestine language but pro-terrorist language.

So chaos was erupting in the streets as Netanyahu opened his speech to Congress by recognizing the families of the hostages and praising the Israeli soldiers: “These are the soldiers of Israel—unbowed, undaunted, unafraid. As the Bible says, ‘They shall rise like lions.’ They’ve risen like lions.”

The Prime Minister implored Congress to continue aiding IDF soldiers who have sacrificed so much to defend Israel from future Hamas attacks and rescue Israeli hostages.

Netanyahu later condemned the pro-Hamas protests that overtook college campuses over the past year. He pointed out that the ridiculous “Gays for Gaza” protests make as much sense as chanting “Chickens for KFC.” And he was exactly right. If the protestors lived that lifestyle in the Middle East, they would be killed immediately. Netanyahu also referenced the horrific treatment of women, which contradicts the far Left’s claims to care about women’s rights. He proclaimed that those protesting and funding anti-Israel sentiment “have officially become Iran’s useful idiots.”

Netanyahu also explained how every terrorist killed by Israel is one less terrorist that could attack America: “That’s why the mobs in Tehran chant ‘Death to Israel’ before they chant ‘Death to America.’ For Iran Israel is first, America is next. . . . When we fight Iran, we’re fighting the most radical and murderous enemy of the United States of America.”

Netanyahu later praised the Abraham Accords formed during the Trump Administration. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo joined the show to explain the significance of this peace treaty in the Middle East and how it likely wouldn’t be a bipartisan effort today:

It’s so precious what we were able to capture there. . . . The idea clearly was to continue to expand that to what we were working on when we departed. And it’s unfortunate his comment was that this was bipartisan when we did it. . . .  You can see what took place yesterday [when] Vice President Harris didn’t even bother to show up for her greatest ally who was speaking to the nation and to the world. I don’t think those Accords would be bipartisan today. I think you have large segments of the Democrat Party who are represented by those folks who are actually on the streets protesting, not all of them are protesting, but they share this fundamental idea that somehow the U.S. is the bad actor here and Israel is the bad actor here.

As Secretary Pompeo alluded, Vice President Kamala Harris skipped yesterday’s speech to attend a sorority event. We clearly know where her priorities lie.

Also, we finally heard from President Joe Biden as he addressed the nation from the Oval Office to explain his withdrawal from the 2024 presidential election. He listed his “accomplishments” regarding the economy, foreign policy in the Middle East, the southern border, etc. Read our explanation here of why Biden is not a hero for passing the baton to Harris.

At first, many thought we might have an open nomination process at the DNC, but Harris has already collected enough delegates to secure the Democrat nomination. President Obama reportedly has been talking to Harris to guide her through the process, and he is expected to finally endorse her. It’s full steam ahead for Harris’s campaign; her selection for her running mate will likely be announced next week.

The Israeli PM plans to meet with Biden and Harris separately. The lukewarm response to Netanyahu’s visit shouldn’t surprise anyone based on the Biden-Harris Administration’s treacherous actions against Israel.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of the disgusting pro-Hamas protests in D.C. over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress. ACLJ Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabon reacted to the PM’s speech.
