New York City Councilwoman Calls for DOJ Probe Against Alvin Bragg
Listen tothis article
New York City Councilwoman Vickie Paladino has called for President Donald Trump’s DOJ to launch a federal civil rights probe into Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg and his District Attorney’s Office. This development comes after a jury found Marine vet Daniel Penny not guilty.
Bragg was one of the Deep State prosecutors who went after President Trump. He charged Trump with 34 counts and secured Trump’s conviction (in which sentencing has now been delayed). Bragg’s case against Trump was clearly politically motivated, and some – Paladino, in particular – are asking if Bragg’s prosecution of Penny was politically motivated:
The Manhattan D.A. has made this racial. We have seen what A.G. Bragg has been capable of and has tried to pursue, and I think between Trump and now, this is the icing on the cake, with Penny. . . .They make it a vendetta. He is definitely political. This is politicized, and I think he needs to be investigated. I think the whole DA’s office in Manhattan needs to be investigated.
Bragg undeniably has a history of politically motivated prosecutions. ACLJ Senior Counsel and Director of Policy Harry Hutchison reacted to Paladino’s calling for a probe into Bragg and his office.
I think the quintessential issue that’s before us, in this particular arena, is the possibility of local corruption, local weaponization of the Justice Department, local politicization of the District Attorney’s Office. And clearly, I think most Americans would agree that the Manhattan District Attorney, under Alvin Bragg’s leadership, has launched a ton of highly politicized and weaponized cases that make little sense. So I think at the end of the day, the Civil Rights Division of the Justice Department, under the leadership most likely of Pam Bondi, should consider investigating what the New York Manhattan District Attorney has done over the last several years.
We need the Trump Administration to clean up the reputation of the DOJ and the FBI. We must get it back on track by focusing on crime, gangs, and keeping Americans safe from terrorism.
Cases like Penny’s should never be in court. The man he neutralized was threatening to kill people while under the influence of drugs – and other innocent lives were likely saved as a result of Penny’s decisive action.
Yes, the circumstances of the death should be properly investigated, but Penny never should have been forced to crowdfund millions for his defense after he stepped up to defend others in a subway. That’s why Paladino’s demand for a probe into Bragg’s office is a very good development.
Speaking of abject political motivations, the Deep State is pulling out all the stops to meddle in Trump’s Cabinet picks being confirmed by the Senate. We told you how almost 100 previous national security bureaucrats wrote a letter expressing strong concerns about former U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination as the Director of National Intelligence (DNI).
The letter, primarily authored by D.C. swamp fixture Wendy Sherman (the lead negotiator for Obama’s Iran Nuclear Deal), outrageously essentially accused Tulsi of being a Russian asset as well as “the least experienced” person ever considered for DNI.
But Tulsi, the Sekulow broadcast’s Senior Military and Political Analyst, is a fighter and won’t bend the knee to the Deep State. Politico is reporting how Tulsi has gone on the offensive to secure the position, meeting with GOP Senators Lindsey Graham (SC), Mike Rounds (SD), and James Lankford (OK). She will also meet with other Senate Intelligence Committee GOP Members.
The ACLJ has worked closely with Tulsi, and we know she is the right person for the job. The Deep State must be defeated, or it will crush President Trump’s agenda.
We’re already defending Tulsi against the Deep State after the TSA maliciously put her on a terror watchlist. And now we’re mobilizing our Government Affairs Office on Capitol Hill, urging the Senate to confirm Tulsi as DNI. Take action with us by signing our brand-new petition in support of Tulsi.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of a New York City Councilwoman calling for Trump’s DOJ to launch a probe into politically motivated Manhattan Bragg and his District Attorney’s Office. ACLJ Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabon also predicted what lies ahead for Israel and Syria.
