ELECTION VICTORY: Huge Win for Trump and Election Integrity
In a huge win for President Trump – and the ACLJ – a Michigan judge just threw out a 14th Amendment case attempting to “disqualify” President Trump from the state’s primary ballot – an unconstitutional attack on voting rights. The judge agreed with the arguments in the ACLJ’s amicus brief (filed on behalf of seven state GOPs) and rightly tossed out the far Left’s ridiculous lawsuit.
Trump’s opponents have argued in multiple states that the former president is ineligible for office under the 14th Amendment. They state that Trump’s actions surrounding the Jan. 6 storming of the U.S. Capitol constituted insurrection against the U.S.
Michigan Court of Claims Judge James Redford rejected that argument, however.
“The judicial action of removing a candidate from the presidential ballot and prohibiting them from running essentially strips Congress of its ability to ‘by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such a disability,” Redford wrote.
“The question of whether he is ineligible due to Section 3 of the 14th Amendment presents a political question that is nonjusticiable at the present time,” the judge continued. “The question of whether Donald Trump is qualified or disqualified from appearing on the 2024 general election ballot in Michigan is not ripe for adjudication at this time.”
Though we were victorious in the Michigan lawsuit (as well as in Oklahoma and Minnesota), similar 14th Amendment “disqualification clause” litigation continues across America, most notably in Colorado, where closing arguments are taking place today in another ACLJ case.
I’m not overly optimistic about the results of the Colorado case. But make no mistake: If the judge doesn’t rule in our favor, we will expedite the case through the courts – meaning the 14th Amendment case would eventually go to the Supreme Court. And we should have an overwhelming victory there because I fully expect the Justices to uphold the Constitution.
We can’t stress enough this ongoing litigation’s importance in preserving voting rights. The far Left must not be allowed to engage in blatant election interference, unilaterally deciding on a whim who is qualified to be on a ballot. The future of our democracy is at stake.
Danny Danon, a Member of the Knesset and the former Israeli Ambassador to the U.S. and the U.N., also joined us to describe a recent IDF operation to root out Hamas terrorists at the Al Shifa hospital in Gaza.
[Hamas] put their bases – they put their weaponry – underneath active hospitals to make it that much more difficult for Israel and the soldiers who go in there to attack those Hamas operatives who are hiding behind sick people. . . . They built the headquarters beneath the hospitals. We know for a fact that those terrorists who came into our communities, butchered innocent families, raped innocent women, and kidnapped 240 Israelis, when they came back to Gaza . . . they took hostages into the hospitals. So that’s why we are now operating in the hospitals. It’s challenging, but we completed the operation in the Al Shifa hospital, and we will continue to do whatever is necessary to make sure we bring back all the hostages that were kidnapped by Hamas.
How cowardly do you have to be to hide behind hospital patients? We will continue to pray that Israel’s mission to eradicate Hamas terrorists continues to be successful.
As the ACLJ defends the families of the Israeli hostages, we are considering traveling for multiple high-level meetings across Europe to the European Union, the Council of Europe, and the European Parliament. Most recently, we sent demand letters to the U.N. on behalf of the families.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast broke down the latest ACLJ victory. Also, ACLJ Senior Counsel CeCe Heil joined to explain the latest efforts to defend the hostages at the U.N. Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell also discussed President Biden’s upcoming meeting with China as well as his Administration’s possible plan to unfreeze $10 billion for Iran.
