It’s almost hard to believe in 2019 that someone with the stated goal of becoming a physician – taking the Hippocratic oath to help others and “do no harm or injustice” – would spew blatant anti-Semitism on social media, even threatening to “purposely give all the [Jews] the wrong meds.”
Today on the broadcast, we discussed the dangerous anti-Semitic tweets sent by a first-year resident at Ohio’s prestigious Cleveland Clinic, a nonprofit academic medical center.
In her tweets, Lara Kollab referred to Jewish people as dogs, downplayed the Holocaust and said she was “brutally unsympathetic” about it, and threatened to give Jewish patients the wrong medication.
She should lose her medical license on the basis of threatening to discriminate against – and even intentionally harm – patients based on race or religion alone. The ACLJ legal team has already been looking into what legal action we can take to make certain this particular doctor is never able to harm anyone.
But this is indicative of the darker, sicker problem of rampant racism and anti-Jewish sentiment spreading across America and around the world, including at the United Nations.
It’s not surprising anti-Semites like Kollab think they can threaten Jewish people without reprisal, when the U.N. is funding an anti-Israel slush fund, and refused to condemn terrorist attacks on Israel. And unsurprisingly, Kollab is a proud supporter of the BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions) movement, further exposing BDS for what it is – thinly veiled anti-Semitism.
The Cleveland Clinic quickly came forward with a statement denouncing the resident’s vile racist comments and assuring the public she was no longer in their employ.
“She is no longer working at Cleveland Clinic. In no way do these beliefs reflect those of our organization. We fully embrace diversity, inclusion and a culture of safety and respect across our entire health system.”
It’s certainly the right move on the hospital’s part. But the state of Ohio should strip Kollab of her license.
We don’t need physicians with such a flippant attitude towards endangering lives – simply because of one’s faith or ethnicity – practicing medicine in the United States.
That’s why the ACLJ is not going to simply brush off her tweets as merely a sick attempt at humor. We are already preparing to take action.

As we prepare to begin a new year, we are facing new challenges, as well as those that will carry over as we continue to fight. At this time, it’s important to pause for a moment to reflect on the diligent work of our ACLJ legal team in 2018, the victories we were afforded in defense of life, the...
Congress may have returned yesterday, but they did little more than gavel in and gavel out. On today’s broadcast, we discussed the President’s reaction to Congress’ inability to approve a border security deal and his threat to completely shut down our southern border. As we worried might happen,
While the Mainstream Media criticized and battered the President, claiming he was afraid to visit our troops serving in combat zones, President Trump was quietly traveling to Iraq to do just that. Today on the broadcast, we discussed President Trump’s surprise trip to Al Asad Air Base in western...
