In fiery fashion, President Donald Trump railed against far-Left federal judges blocking the White House’s actions, and he demanded that Chief Justice John Roberts and the U.S. Supreme Court intervene. Courts have issued 15 injunctions blocking President Trump’s agenda. Should the Supreme Court get involved?

Trump posted to Truth Social:

Unlawful Nationwide Injunctions by Radical Left Judges could very well lead to the destruction of our Country! These people are Lunatics, who do not care, even a little bit, about the repercussions from their very dangerous and incorrect Decisions and Rulings. . . . These Judges want to assume the Powers of the Presidency, without having to attain 80 Million Votes. They want all of the advantages with none of the risks. . . . STOP NATIONWIDE INJUNCTIONS NOW, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. If Justice Roberts and the United States Supreme Court do not fix this toxic and unprecedented situation IMMEDIATELY, our Country is in very serious trouble!

Do rogue judges have the constitutional right to override a President’s actions? It’s always been a matter of debate, but the prevalence is getting out of control now with Trump in charge.

Americans are frustrated with how many White House agenda items are getting tied up in court. And it’s not just lawsuits forcing delays but temporary restraining orders (TROs) that turn into injunctions that aren’t quickly resolved.

So far President Trump is facing the brunt of activist judges, but maybe it’s time for the Supreme Court to intervene. Because in the future judges from both sides of the aisle will start playing this game based on which party is in office. One side will just go judge-shopping to shut down any movement from the White House.

However, my co-host, Sekulow Executive Producer Will Haynes, doesn’t believe the Supreme Court will make a ruling about rogue judges. He pointed out how a recent TRO (regarding the Trump Administration’s attempt to freeze $2 billion in foreign aid to USAID) reached the Supreme Court quickly and didn’t go in Trump’s favor.

Traditionally, the Supreme Court wants legal matters to go through the full appeals process. That means a case goes to a district court, then an appeals court, and then finally to the Supreme Court. The Justices will then decide whether to take the case.

That being said, plaintiffs can request an emergency appeal to the Supreme Court – we saw this when Special Counsel Jack Smith sought to go directly from a district court to the Supreme Court regarding his presidential immunity indictment against Trump.

However, if the Supreme Court doesn’t decide how to handle judges interjecting themselves into presidential actions, perhaps Congress will step up to the plate to enact judicial reform.

Yesterday on Sean Hannity’s show, Senator Josh Hawley contrasted how President Trump had 64 injunctions during his first term in office, whereas President Obama only had 12 in two terms. It’s a staggering difference, and Hawley is calling upon Congress to act: “District Court judges have issued RECORD numbers of national injunctions against the Trump administration - a dramatic abuse of judicial authority. I will introduce legislation to stop this abuse for good.”

We need our elected leaders to work together to define the rules. Federal judges shouldn’t be able to override a U.S. President’s authority. It’s time for judicial reform.

The ACLJ is fighting back against the far-Left judges blocking Trump’s Executive orders. For example, earlier this week we filed an amicus brief in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit to defend the presidential authority to end taxpayer funding of abortion.

We’re calling on the First Circuit to immediately grant the government’s motion to stay this outrageous preliminary injunction. The President must be allowed to fulfill his constitutional duties, which includes ensuring taxpayer dollars aren’t misused to fund abortion.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of President Trump demanding that the Supreme Court put a stop to rogue judges interfering with U.S. Presidents’ actions. ACLJ Senior Counsel CeCe Heil joined us from Geneva to discuss the ACLJ’s work at the U.N. to defend persecuted Christians.
