Letitia James Filing To Erase Trump in New York
President Donald Trump’s $454 million bond is due by Monday. If he doesn’t pay the bond in his New York civil case, New York Attorney General Letitia James will seize Trump’s assets. Will the former President have to forfeit his NYC properties?
AG Letitia James is in the process of identifying the Trump buildings that she wants to take over. She wants to seize Seven Springs, a Trump golf resort in Westchester County, New York. She also has her sights set on Trump’s 40 Wall Street building and Trump Tower in New York City.
We also have the news that Trump’s social media platform – Truth Social – is going public for $3 billion. Essentially, this is a strategic move to free up more possible cash for the President.
The seizures of Trump’s assets could be temporary . . . or worse. We will start to have clarity on Monday, as the bond is due at 12:01 a.m. Keep in mind that AG James can also seize properties all over the country. She could go after Mar-a-Lago in Florida or the Trump hotel in Vegas.
ACLJ Senior Counsel for Global Affairs Mike Pompeo commented on this absurd lawfare:
It’s important to remember how we got here. We saw political charges brought by a political actor, and now they’re going to use the force and power, the armed might of the government, to take away property from someone who is still litigating a valid claim. . . . When you pursue a political adversary and then find a judge who will rule for you without proper due process, this is how it happens. And this would be a tragic day for America to see armed government agents in the street seizing assets for a candidate for President of the United States of America.
We’ve never seen political prosecution like this in our modern political system. The radical Left will stop at nothing to remove President Trump from the 2024 presidential election.
We also saw this in the Georgia judge’s decision to allow DA Fani Willis to keep prosecuting her case against President Trump despite the “odor of mendacity” hanging over her disqualification case. We are preparing to file an amicus brief urging the Georgia Court of Appeals to hear this vital case and disqualify DA Willis. Sign our petition to remove DA Willis and defend the integrity of our justice system.
We also have a huge update on our case involving a Pakistani Christian on death row. We have been fighting for years for Shahzad Masih, a Christian who was only 16 years old when he was arrested and falsely charged under Pakistan’s blasphemy laws.
After Shahzad’s wrongful conviction in November 2022, we filed an official complaint with the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD), which deals with issues of arbitrary detention, communicates with the government, and makes legal determinations about whether the detention is arbitrary.
The U.N. WGAD just publicly issued its decision, holding that Shahzad’s rights were violated and calling on the Pakistani government “to take the steps necessary to remedy the situation of Mr. Masih without delay and bring it into conformity with the relevant international norms” and to “release Mr. Masih immediately and accord him an enforceable right to compensation and other reparations.”
Shahzad has been imprisoned for 2,445 days, including some periods of solitary confinement. The U.N. Working Group expressed concern about his health after such an agonizing imprisonment. The U.N. WGAD also wants the Pakistani government to ensure that Shahzad receives proper medical attention.
The ACLJ is demanding that Pakistani authorities comply with this opinion and release Shahzad immediately. We are also working to ensure that the Lahore High Court hears Shahzad’s appeal soon and that his conviction is finally overturned.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of AG James’ outrageous attempt to bankrupt President Trump. ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell joined to discuss illegal immigrants who broke through razor wire and knocked down border security in El Paso.
