Victory: Billboard Company Reverses Course, Allows Lifesaving Abortion Pill Reversal Ads
Recently, we told you about a troubling development: A major billboard company had refused to display Stanton Healthcare’s ads sharing information about Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) – information that could help save the lives of unborn children and give women a second chance after beginning a chemical abortion.
Today, we have a major victory to report.
After receiving our letter, the billboard company has reversed course. Not only has it agreed to run the ads – it has changed its policy in a way that will impact far more than just this single campaign.
And as of April 23, those billboards are being displayed throughout Idaho.
A Critical Policy Change
We’ve also learned that this wasn’t just about one set of ads. Other pro-life organizations had tried to run similar ads – and were rejected.
By reversing its decision here, the company has now opened the door for those previously rejected campaigns to move forward. In other words, this victory doesn’t just affect one client or one state – it has the potential to expand access to lifesaving information nationwide.
And that makes this win even more significant.
The company ultimately agreed to run the ads with a standard disclaimer – language commonly used for many off-label medical treatments.
APR involves the use of progesterone – a hormone that is widely prescribed for a variety of medical purposes, including supporting pregnancy. The treatment itself is legal, and doctors regularly prescribe medications “off-label” when medically appropriate.
What the billboard company has now recognized is simple: Providing truthful, lawful information about a medical option should not be censored.
As we explained previously, access to information about APR can make the difference between life and death.
Every day, women begin the abortion drug regimen and then experience regret. Many do not realize that there may be an opportunity to reverse the effects of the first drug if they act quickly.
Yes, this case highlights a larger issue we are seeing across the country: attempts to restrict or silence pro-life speech – especially when it challenges prevailing narratives about abortion.
Whether it’s online platforms, state-backed campaigns, or private companies making viewpoint-based decisions, the result is the same: Women are kept from hearing about all of their options and the support available to help them choose life.
At the ACLJ, we will continue to stand up for the right to share truthful, life-affirming information – and to ensure that no one is silenced for offering women empowering, life-affirming choices.
This victory proves that those efforts matter.
And it’s a reminder that standing firm can lead to real, tangible change.
