ACLJ Calls on Congress and the White House to Confront the Systematic Censorship of Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers

Across America, pro-life pregnancy resource centers (PRCs) are being silenced – not because they mislead women, but because they offer a message of life. Big Tech companies, working in tandem with pro-abortion activists and government officials, have created a coordinated system of discrimination designed to suppress Christian and pro-life speech.
This week, the ACLJ took action on two fronts: sending a letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan detailing specific evidence of censorship by Google, Microsoft, and other platforms, and a second letter to Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, Chair of the new White House Religious Liberty Commission, urging federal intervention to end this anti-Christian bias.

In our letter to Chairman Jordan, we thanked the Committee for its leadership in exposing Google’s censorship under the Biden Administration and presented clear evidence of ongoing, systematic discrimination against PRCs.
As our letter explains: “For years, PRCs have faced barriers that abortion businesses do not. Google and Microsoft Ads require PRCs to sign “certificates” with forced disclaimers such as “Does not provide abortions,” while no comparable disclaimer is imposed on abortion providers.”
In 2022, Google removed PRCs from default visibility on Google Maps – a unilateral change that wiped out years of organic reach and forced these centers to pay for visibility they previously received for free. One of our clients, Gate Pregnancy Resource Center in North Carolina (Gate), experienced a 60–70% drop in ad visibility and leads in August 2025, despite no policy violation or account change. Leads were cut in half, and the cost per lead tripled. Despite months of effort, conversions have never recovered, suggesting hidden, ongoing restrictions.
Meanwhile, Google’s nonprofit grant program – which promises up to $10,000 per month in free ad credits – has proven illusory for PRCs. Gate received less than $50 in usable credits over 27 months. Other nonprofits routinely use thousands of dollars in credits each month.
These are not accidents. As we wrote, “These practices reflect a consistent bias against pro-life viewpoints and have the practical effect of depriving women in crisis of access to full and fair information.” When abortion providers are granted unrestricted access to advertise while PRCs are silenced, women lose their ability to make informed choices.
The ACLJ is urging the Judiciary Committee to continue its oversight and investigate why PRCs like Gate are singled out for forced disclaimers, removed from Maps visibility, and denied promised grant benefits – and whether any federal coordination occurred behind the scenes.
At the same time, our letter to Lt. Governor Dan Patrick and the Religious Liberty Commission applauded the Trump Administration’s recognition that anti-Christian bias has become pervasive – but we stress that action must follow.
Major technology platforms are restricting or banning pro-life advocacy and advertising—largely at the behest of Democrat politicians and big-abortion lobbyists. At the state and local level, governments have adopted measures singling out faith-based organizations for special burdens not imposed on secular counterparts. Across the board, these actions reflect a troubling double standard aimed at silencing Christian voices in the public square and marketplace.
We are urging the Commission to launch a formal investigation into discrimination against PRCs, to issue public reports ensuring accountability, to provide clear guidance affirming that anti-Christian bias violates federal law, and to meet directly with affected centers to fully document this systemic problem.
The creation of the Religious Liberty Commission is an important step forward. But without decisive measures, pro-life Christian ministries will remain vulnerable to ongoing censorship, harassment, and exclusion from the marketplace of ideas.
The ACLJ stands ready to assist both Congress and the Commission in these investigations.
Our message is simple: Women deserve truth. They deserve hope. And every child deserves the chance to live.
When Big Tech and government allies silence those who speak for life, they are not just attacking pro-life speech — they are endangering lives. The ACLJ will continue to fight, because protecting freedom means protecting that most basic and fundamental right – the right to life.
