Secretary Hegseth Reveals the Truth
Listen tothis article
At a blistering press conference today, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth ripped into the mainstream media over the recent intel leak. He blamed far-Left news outlets for spreading false news about Operation Midnight Hammer’s success in taking out Iran’s nuclear weapons facilities.
Secretary Hegseth denounced the “low confidence” intel report, which was gifted to the Deep State’s favorite journalist, CNN’s Natasha Bertrand, pointing out: “It says in the report there are gaps in the information. It says in the report multiple linchpin assumptions.” Yet that is the data with which the media has run rampant.
Fox News reported on Hegseth’s press conference:
Hegseth addressed recent media reports citing a leaked low-confidence preliminary report from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) that suggested U.S. strikes against Iran likely put the country back mere months.
“You, the press, specifically you, the press corps, because you cheer against Trump so hard,” he said. “It’s like in your DNA and in your blood to cheer against Trump because you want him not to be successful so bad. You have to cheer against the efficacy of these strikes. You have to hope maybe they weren’t effective.” . . .
“Maybe the way the Trump administration is represented isn’t true. So let’s take half truths, spun information, leaked information, and then spin it,” Hegseth said of the media. “Spin it in every way we can to try to cause doubt and manipulate the mind, the public mind, over whether or not our brave pilots were successful.”
I hate that Hegseth had to do this press conference. It’s ridiculous that the U.S. military can’t celebrate a victory that the media is so quick to undermine before the dust has even settled on Fordow – the notorious underground nuclear facility. Yet that’s the state of the mainstream media, which is driven by its hatred of any positive news about President Trump.
As I pointed out yesterday, the only people who benefit from this fake news being peddled by the mainstream media are the ayatollahs in the Iranian regime. We must not endanger our national security or allies by discrediting the U.S. military’s precision and prowess.
Just before we went on the air, the ACLJ learned about another huge victory at the U.S. Supreme Court. The high Court ruled that South Carolina has the right to block funding to Planned Parenthood, paving the way for other states to defund Planned Parenthood.
The ACLJ had filed a critical amicus brief earlier this year in this massive case, Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic. The Justices sided with our arguments in a 6-3 ruling, which was authored by Justice Neil Gorsuch.
This case began after South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster issued an executive order directing the South Carolina Department of Health & Human Services to deem abortion clinics unqualified to operate as medical service providers under the Medicaid Act.
Providing such services is one of the primary ways that Planned Parenthood receives taxpayer dollars from states. Planned Parenthood uses such taxpayer money to subsidize its entire business, including abortion.
Fearing the loss of so much taxpayer money, Planned Parenthood and an individual plaintiff, who had been one of Planned Parenthood’s patients, immediately sued in federal court, challenging the state’s decision. The central issue is whether individual Medicaid beneficiaries can challenge state decisions to disqualify abortionists, such as Planned Parenthood, as Medicaid service providers.
However, the Supreme Court ruled today that Planned Parenthood cannot use a legal mechanism called Section 1983 to force states to fund it through Medicaid. This ruling strikes a major blow to the abortion giant, allowing states to defund Planned Parenthood. Today signals a breakthrough victory for the pro-life movement.
While we celebrate the U.S. Supreme Court ruling, the fight against Planned Parenthood is far from over. The ACLJ is also taking on the abortion giant directly in Missouri to prevent the abortion industry from striking down all of Missouri’s pro-life laws. We must not allow Planned Parenthood to prevail in Missouri, and our attorneys are there on the ground fighting to save the unborn.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s scathing takedown of the mainstream media’s lies about the destruction of the Iranian nuclear sites. We also celebrated the ACLJ’s latest amicus brief victory at the U.S. Supreme Court that led to states defunding Planned Parenthood.
