White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt just held a surprise press conference (featuring “Border Czar” Tom Homan) this morning. She also posted on X a video of 100 mugshots on the White House lawn of the “worst illegal immigrant criminals” arrested during President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office.

During her press conference, Leavitt asserted:

Today we kick off “100 Day” week with a focus on the President’s historic effort to secure our southern border. Later this afternoon, President Trump will sign an Executive order on law and order and another Executive order on sanctuary cities. The first EO will strengthen and unleash America’s law enforcement to pursue criminals and protect innocent citizens. The second EO is centered around protecting American communities from criminal aliens, and it will direct the Attorney General and Secretary of Homeland Security to publish a list of state and local jurisdictions that obstruct the enforcement of federal immigration laws. After these are signed, the President will have signed more than 140 Executive orders, already rapidly approaching the total number signed by the Biden Administration over the course of four years in office.

Now such a display on the White House lawn could open the door for criticism. Trump is celebrating his record at the expense of these individuals – albeit violent illegal immigrants – in an arguably distasteful way. It’ll be interesting to see how most Trump supporters react. I could see many supporters being turned off.

However, Trump made it known on the campaign trail that he would secure the border after the disastrous four years of the previous Administration. And he’s undeniably kept that promise even in the face of rogue activist judges trying to block him with injunctions.

And I really liked what “Border Czar” Tom Homan stated in today’s press conference:

[From] January 20 to April 1 last year, 184,000 illegal aliens were released into the United States . Under this Administration: nine. Four of them were material witnesses. . . . Four were [for] extreme medical conditions. We couldn’t return them because they’re in such bad shape. And one was a humanitarian issue. This is [an] unprecedented success. The border [is] secure. President Trump [is] saving lives.

I wish the White House would present the facts in this manner more often. It highlights the truth in a way that doesn’t dehumanize the individuals involved.

And this theatrical display on the lawn comes on the heels of recent presidential approval polls. Interestingly enough, we have conflicting data in the polls regarding approval ratings on illegal immigration.

According to a CBS News poll, 56% of Americans approve of Trump’s deportations of illegal immigrants. Yet a Washington Post poll reported the opposite: 53% disapproved of Trump’s border actions.

So both are polls from mainstream media. Yet they both report starkly different results. Which is the truth?

Another key issue during Trump’s 100 days is his efforts to end the Ukraine-Russia war. Former Secretary of State reacted to Putin’s announcement of a three-day ceasefire in May:

President Trump has been working diligently. He’s got a team that’s been working hard on it. . . . We all want peace. We want there to be no wars, but we’re not prepared to surrender 16,000 kids that the Russians have taken into their country out of Ukraine. We’re not willing to give Vladimir Putin the victory of aggression, and that’s the rub. That’s why we haven’t been able to pull this off in the first couple of months of President Trump’s time. And I hope this ceasefire . . . lasts three days – [Putin’s] often announced ceasefires and then not lived up to them. That’s also true for the Ukrainians; they’ve done the same. But I hope he’ll live up to it, and then I hope it can be extended, and I hope the Europeans can step forward, provide the resources necessary for a security arrangement in the aftermath of this aggression from Vladimir Putin, and that we can get a solution that is lasting and long-lived in Europe. And we don’t have to deal with these issues of thousands of innocent civilian lives being lost every month.

A lot has happened in the first three months of Trump’s presidency. We’ll see what lies ahead in the next 100 days.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of President Trump displaying 100 mugshots of illegal criminals who have been deported. We also celebrated a recent ACLJ victory for pro-life healthcare workers. The ACLJ also sent a major legal letter to the U.N. Special Rapporteur traveling to the Congo, demanding the protection of persecuted Christians in the region.
