Jeffrey Epstein’s Prosecutor Fired!
Listen tothis article
Maurene Comey, the prosecutor who went after Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, was fired from the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office. Why did the DOJ dismiss the daughter of former FBI Director James Comey? The Trump Administration’s efforts to quash the Epstein files scandal have done little to end questions surrounding it..
So this is the second Comey who has been fired by the Administration, with the first currently under investigation for possibly lying to Congress about the Russia hoax. No reason has been given by the DOJ so far, but we can all speculate as to why this prosecutor involved in high-profile cases was let go.
Let’s give the Trump Administration the benefit of the doubt and say that Maurene Comey was fired for doing a terrible job as a prosecutor. Couldn’t the DOJ at least wait until the Epstein scandal had died down? For whatever reason, the Administration continues to make unforced errors, keeping the Epstein scandal in the headlines.
We also have a MAJOR update in one of our biggest pro-life cases. We’ve told you how the Biden Department of Defense outrageously trained Fort Bragg soldiers to label pro-life organizations (such as our client Operation Rescue) and other pro-lifers as domestic terrorists. They even targeted people with “Choose Life” license plates.
We learned that the Biden Army’s investigator had essentially covered up the shocking actions with a report containing demonstrably inaccurate claims and even contradicted itself. Immediately, the ACLJ sent a demand letter to Biden’s Army Secretary, yet her response was grossly insufficient.
In addition, we filed a Freedom of Information (FOIA) lawsuit to get answers, and we received troves of records showing the extent of the training – all the way back to 2011. The Deep State rot within the DOD was more widespread than realized.
After the Trump Administration took over, we sent a letter to Secretary of State Pete Hegseth and Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll. We filled them in on all the details of the Biden DOD’s disgusting attacks on pro-life advocates and urged them to take action to weed out this nonsense from our military training doctrine. This was the only way to make things right for our client and all pro-life Americans.
After months of effort, we are pleased to announce that President Trump’s new military leadership has done what the Biden Administration refused to do: condemn the training, acknowledge that it caused harm, apologize for it, and assure us that it will not happen again under their watch.
Today the ACLJ received a letter from Army Secretary Driscoll on behalf of himself and Secretary Hegseth that thanked us for our letter and then got right to the point:
I was troubled to learn that an Army antiterrorism and protection training conducted at Fort Bragg, North Carolina had mischaracterized Operation Rescue, National Right to Life, and other pro-life groups as terrorist organizations. This mischaracterization was not only inaccurate but also deeply inappropriate.
Equally concerning was the previous Administration’s inadequate response to this serious incident. Its failure to provide full transparency or take responsibility for such a grievous error is wholly unacceptable.
Let me be clear, the Army does not consider Operation Rescue, National Right to Life, and other pro-life groups to be terrorist organizations. Further, the Army does not view pro-life beliefs or state-issued pro-life license plates as indicators of terrorism. (Emphasis added.)
And then Secretary Driscoll offered a genuinely heartfelt apology, one that we’ve been fighting for: “I want to offer my sincerest apology to Operation Rescue, National Right to Life, and all pro-life groups negatively impacted by the false characterization of all pro-life organizations made by this training.”
We truly appreciate the response from Secretary Driscoll and Secretary Hegseth. The heinous labeling of pro-lifers as domestic terrorists had to be corrected.
We commend the current military leadership for taking the necessary steps to rectify the situation. We will continue to monitor the progress and possibly send another FOIA request to ensure that the training has been fully expunged.
We’ve been fighting for the pro-life movement for 35 years. We are making progress, but we need your support to make the next 35 years possible. Donate now during our Justice Drive – gifts are doubled. Also, be sure to sign our petition to stop the criminalization of pro-life advocates.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of Maurene Comey getting dismissed from her role as a Manhattan prosecutor. ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell reacted to Zohran Mamdani’s ongoing flirtation with communism.
