CNN Blasts Kamala Campaign
Listen tothis article
Vice President Kamala Harris has already been virtually selected as the Democrat Party’s nominee for President, and she will officially be coronated next week at the Democrat National Convention. However, she has yet to host a press conference or sit down for an interview and has none scheduled on her calendar for today, tomorrow, or anytime in the future.
Harris claims that she plans to schedule an interview later this month. In other words, she will “schedule” an interview this month that could take place sometime in the future.
Some mainstream media members are becoming fed up with her refusal to speak to the media. CNN’s John Berman repeatedly asked Adrienne Elrod, a spokesperson for the Harris-Walz campaign, if the VP had time in her schedule to answer questions. Elrod insisted that Harris has been too busy campaigning to answer direct questions.
Maybe some in the media are feeling a sense of betrayal after carrying the water for VP Harris as the DNC pulled off a coup to remove President Biden from the ticket. At first, the media had kept saying there was nothing to see about Biden’s struggles and labeled the videos as “cheap fakes.” And then the media turned on Biden after he debated Trump, rallying around Harris. Now perhaps some reporters want some basic answers to questions after all they have done to prop Harris up for the past month.
On the other hand, many are still covering for Kamala’s silence. Michael McFaul, the former ambassador to Russia during the Obama-Biden Administration, tweeted:
The paramount objective for @KamalaHarris is to win this election. If a press conference helps her win, she should do it. If not, she shouldn’t do it. It’s just that simple. She has no “moral obligation” to talk to the press. Tone it down folks.
Let’s be real: If VP Harris can’t even take softball questions from a liberal-leaning media, then what can she do? If anything, most of the media would likely ask questions that make Kamala look good or give her a chance to distance herself from Biden’s failures for the past three and a half years. But Harris doesn’t have time even to take these questions.
Don’t the American people deserve better from a presidential candidate? And don’t we deserve a better press that will hold the Vice President accountable for dodging questions?
Harris is not projecting confidence that she can handle the job of President. Contrast this with President Trump, who is unafraid to conduct a two-hour interview with Elon Musk or go into hostile environments like when he got grilled by the National Association of Black Journalists.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo commented on Harris’ fear of speaking to the media:
In the end, people want to hear from candidates. They don’t want to hear from your vice-presidential candidate. They don’t want to hear from your surrogates. They want to hear the candidate take questions to see . . . the policy positions that they’re going to adopt, how it’s going to affect their lives, how it’s going to affect inflation, how it’s going to reflect the border. But I also think they want to get to know them and get a chance to touch and see them. Right? And how do they respond? Do they get angry? Are they sharp enough to actually answer difficult questions? Can they speak in full sentences? These are things the American people, just as a matter of common sense, will demand as this campaign moves forward.
We’ll wait with bated breath for Harris to finally host a press conference or sit down for an interview. I don’t see it happening anytime soon. And so far, she’s only agreed to do one presidential debate with President Trump. I expect the Harris-Walz campaign to expose her as little as possible until November.
As we told you yesterday, the ACLJ is preparing to launch a new major counter-campaign to fight back against a massive taxpayer-funded, pro-abortion smear campaign in Massachusetts. The state of Massachusetts is launching a media blitz attacking Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs), which are safe havens for expectant mothers. The blitz includes lies and misinformation about the lifesaving work of PRCs – including our client.
We are preparing to file a lawsuit against the Massachusetts government and the abortion industry to defeat this unlawful smear campaign against lifesaving Pregnancy Resource Centers. For our counter-campaign, we’ll be launching a multipronged media campaign to refute the abortion lies and support and defend PRCs.
