Hamas Infiltrating College Campuses
Listen tothis article
A bombshell lawsuit revealed that sleeper cells on U.S. college campuses were conspiring with Hamas. According to freed Israeli hostages, a Gaza captor, Abdallah Aljamal, informed them that Hamas was promoting hatred of Israel and Jews among U.S. protesters.
Aljamal, a former spokesman for the Ministry of Labor in Gaza and active member of Hamas, is now dead. However, he was also a writer for the Palestine Chronicle, a nonprofit news outlet in the U.S. The “journalist” terrorist used his platform at the Palestine Chronicle to distribute pro-Hamas literature on college campuses.
Now we all remember the radical pro-Hamas protests that rocked the universities last spring. The violence against Jewish students (and Christian students who support Israel) was rampant, and many university presidents looked the other way.
The ACLJ took legal action on behalf of Jewish students, sending legal letters to put the universities on notice that they had violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Eventually, several Ivy League presidents rightly resigned, including Harvard’s Claudine Gay, who had argued in a congressional hearing that the protesters’ calls for genocide needed “context.”
So now we know that Aljamal was actively targeting college students to turn them against Israel – via a U.S.-based nonprofit. This raises a host of legal issues for the Palestine Chronicle, and the National Jewish Advocacy Center is calling for the FBI to launch an investigation. We will keep you updated on further developments.
ACLJ Senior Counsel Cece Heil spoke on how the ACLJ is currently defending Israel (and American citizens) at the U.S. Supreme Court:
We just filed an amicus brief in a case that deals with the Federal Anti-Terrorism Act of 2019, which basically allows terrorists to be brought to U.S. courts when there are acts against U.S. citizens done by international terrorists. And they [victims of terror] are actually able to sue them in U.S. courts and get . . . triple damages. And so, this case is in the Supreme Court.
This Supreme Court case is about protecting American lives and sending a clear message that those who support terrorism will be held accountable. The ACLJ remains committed to defending Israel as well as the fundamental rights of Americans both at home and abroad.
In addition to supporting Israel, the ACLJ is defending Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs) in Massachusetts. The state is using taxpayer money to fund a massive media blitz to spread lies and misinformation about PRCs, calling them “anti-abortion centers.” If we don’t defend PRCs, other states could use taxpayer funds for smear campaigns.
The ACLJ took legal action and filed a complaint on behalf of one of those PRCs, Your Options Medical (YOM), against Massachusetts officials and their allies. With Massachusetts Liberty Legal Center serving as our local counsel, we filed a major constitutional lawsuit in federal district court in Massachusetts.
And we are also launching a counter-campaign to defend and support PRCs and enable them to continue their lifesaving work without harassment and/or government interference. Our efforts include an ad campaign titled Choice Begins Here.
You can take action with the ACLJ and sign our petitions to defend Israel and fight the mass deception against PRCs. Your voice makes a difference.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of the lawsuit that alleges that Hamas has been infiltrating college campuses. One Free World International’s Majed El Shafie also joined to promote a new film about the horrors of October 7.
