Just days after President Biden’s Middle East visit, a spokesman for the Ayatollah just warned the whole world that Iran – the world’s number one state sponsor of terrorism – now has the capability to build a nuclear bomb.

But don’t worry, because according to the statement, Iran hasn’t decided if it’s going to build one . . . yet.

The ominous announcement came yesterday from Kamal Kharrazi, advisor to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who said:

In a few days, we were able to enrich uranium up to 60% and we can easily produce 90% enriched uranium . . . Iran has the technical means to produce a nuclear bomb but there has been no decision by Iran to build one.

Don’t be fooled. This announcement is nothing short of thinly veiled extortion. Iran will use this news to strongarm money and other resources out of the world. We’ve been warning you that this day was coming. Iran never intended to honor the original flawed nuclear deal negotiated by the Obama-Biden Administration. Once again, it appears we were right all along.

ACLJ Senior Military Analyst Col. Wes Smith shared his analysis of this announcement and offered an alarming possibility that Iran could have a functional nuclear weapon in less than a month:

This is both predictable and it’s been predicted. The IEA is reporting a connection with this that Iran right now has about 95 pounds of highly enriched uranium. It takes 65 pounds to produce one nuclear weapon. So they already have more than enough uranium and they can actually go to 90% and construct a bomb that IAEA is saying in about three weeks if they chose to do it. It’s really alarming.

If for some reason you’re asking why we care that Iran has the capability to build deadly nuclear weapons, remember that Iranian leaders are not rational actors. We’ve told you how Iran scrawled “Israel must be destroyed” on its ballistic missiles, and has called Israel a “cancerous tumor.”

And Iran’s evil hits even closer to home for your ACLJ. Iran has also just renewed its threat on the head of former U.S. Secretary of State – and current ACLJ Senior Counsel for Global Affairs – Mike Pompeo over the assassination of Iranian General Soleimani, a bloodthirsty war criminal who orchestrated the slaughters of thousands, including Americans AND his own people.

For its part, Israel has made its feelings known. At a cabinet meeting yesterday, Israel’s current acting Prime Minister Yair Lapid – who just met with President Biden in Israel – reiterated Israel’s commitment to stop Iran from ever obtaining a nuclear weapon by whatever means it deems necessary:

I clarified to President Biden and his staff that Israel opposes the nuclear agreement and reserves full freedom of action, political and operational, facing the Iranian nuclear problem.

Israel is drawing a line in the sand, as are other countries that are smarter than to trust Iran. Meanwhile, even after signing an agreement with the Israeli Prime Minister agreeing that Iran could never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon, President Biden is still hoping to make some kind of new deal with Iran. There is now no reason for Iran to even compromise with us. They’re going to use this news to bully the U.S. to squeeze whatever it can out of us, while most likely still quietly moving forward on a nuclear weapons program, just like it did under the Obama-Biden Administration.

Now President Biden is trying to resurrect his former boss’s terrible nuclear deal. Col. Wes Smith explained why trying to force Iran into another deal now is futile and what’s likely to happen again if we give in to Iran’s demands, based on history seemingly repeating itself:

There are bipartisan Members of Congress who have warned President Biden about continued negotiations and the possibility of lifting sanctions on Iran . . . . Israel and the Arab Gulf states are totally against what’s going on there, including Prime Minister Lapid. And we know that in 2015, the last time we relieved Iran from sanctions, they got about $100 billion dollars when we did that under President Obama. They used that money to deliver over 10,000 rockets and missiles to Hezbollah and Hamas. In addition to that, they armed the Houthi rebels in Yemen; and the Houthi rebels, because of that Iran deal in 2015, were allowed to overthrow the government in Yemen. So they will use the money for that and for continued work on their nuclear weapons program.

And yet, and this was a surprise to me and I follow this pretty closely, President Biden said in Israel that they had actually delivered their final offer to the Iranian government. That it essentially was on their desk, and that if they signed it they would go forward with the agreement, and yet in that agreement it allows Iran to have access AGAIN to billions and billions of dollars with no restraints on their ballistic missile system.

This is bad diplomacy. It’s bad for the world. It’s bad for the United States of America, and yet he is insisting on going forward with this. The only thing that’s holding us back right now is Iran has not signed it.

So the question is, what does President Biden do next? Deliver pallets of cash to Iran in the hopes they’ll behave? That is bad – and dangerous – diplomacy indeed.

Today’s full Sekulow broadcast includes further analysis of Iran’s new status as a potential nuclear power and how the Biden Administration allowed this to happen, as well as what the world has to do now to stop Iran from building a weapon of mass destruction.
