Another far-Left 14th Amendment lawsuit bites the dust – the Michigan Court of Appeals unanimously ruled that President Trump could remain on the state’s primary ballot for the 2024 presidential election. The ACLJ successfully represented 15 state GOPs at the appeals court level in this case.

The Hill reports on the court’s decision:

The court determined that the former president’s spot on the general election ballot was not ripe for consideration.

“It would be improper to decide whether to grant a declaration that Trump is disqualified from holding the office of President of the United States at this time,” the 3-0 opinion reads. “At the moment, the only event about to occur is the presidential primary election.”

Regarding his spot on Michigan’s primary ballot, the secretary of state has “no discretion” to decide not to place him — or any other candidate identified as a primary candidate by a state political party — on the ballot.

The court’s assertion that Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson doesn’t have the authority to decide whether Trump could be on the state primary ballot is significant. She had wanted to unilaterally remove Trump from the ballot – this prevents her from doing so.

So we have yet another victory for President Trump in these outrageous, multistate attempts by the far Left to ban the former President from state primary ballots. And up to this point, they have not won a single legal battle in their ongoing attempt at election interference.

In related news, we fully expect the Colorado 14th Amendment lawsuit to go to the U.S. Supreme Court – meaning it could be the biggest election integrity case in history. The ACLJ is confident that the rule of law will prevail at the Supreme Court.

A shocking incident took place in Iowa where a satanic Baphomet statue inside the Iowa State Capitol was destroyed yesterday. A Christian Navy veteran, angered by The Satanic Temple’s display, decapitated the statue.

The Christian turned himself in to the police and has been charged with 4th-degree criminal mischief. He faces up to a year in jail and a heavy fine for this act. I am curious if any of the vandals who have torn down or defaced statues of our Founding Fathers in recent years received the same treatment.

The truth is that I’m a huge proponent of free speech, even if I don’t necessarily like what’s being said, and I believe that anyone should be able to celebrate their beliefs openly. That’s what America stands for. That said, is Christmastime at the Iowa State Capitol the appropriate time and place for an obviously anti-Christmas display that’s meant to provoke and upset Christians?

The fact that this “altar,” as they called it, was even in the state capitol is outlandish. So was I heartbroken over the news that the satanic statue was destroyed “beyond repair?” Not really. But I also definitely don’t promote that people commit acts of vandalism. Sadly, this incident is an example of the societal rot that’s running rampant throughout America. There are no winners on either side.

In lighter news, be sure to check out Jingle Smells, the movie that I helped create. The ACLJ and Sean Hannity teamed up to produce this movie that celebrates patriotism and faith, pokes fun at so-called “cancel culture,” and is suitable – and genuinely entertaining – for the entire family.

Jingle Smells screenwriter Bart Scott joined the show to discuss the writing process and shared some behind-the-scenes secrets about the film. The movie organically came together because of the ridiculous canceling of individuals in the news. Visit jinglesmells.movie to rent or buy today.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast celebrated the ACLJ’s legal victory in Michigan. We also fielded calls that reacted to the satanic statue being beheaded.
