I am deeply concerned about the Cyber Security Act currently being considered in Congress. This dangerous legislation is a significant threat to my personal liberties, and that of every American citizen. While I understand that certain sacrifices must be made to protect our nation, this over-reaching attempt to strip the constitutional rights of Americans goes far over that line.

The bill is touted as necessary for national security, but it would essentially and virtually grant the federal government complete control over all electronic communication. The devastating potential of this action on commerce is frightening but it pales in comparison to the authority it grants the President and his bureaucracy to stifle free speech in America.

While we are all concerned about national security, I will not stand by while our elected officials use scare tactics to trample our rights and take away our fundamental freedoms. I strongly urge you to use the full influence of your office to defeat this damaging legislation.
