No U.S. Citizenship for Anti-American Terrorists!

The near-disaster in Times Square is forcing America to take a tough look at the way we protect our nation and deal with terror suspects. This attempted bombing by a naturalized U.S. citizen from Pakistan has led Senator Joe Lieberman, Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, to introduce a Terrorist Expatriation Act designed to revoke the citizenship of Americans who join foreign terrorist groups.

Its only right to strip U.S. citizenship from terrorists who stand with foreign organizations focused on destroying America. The American Center for Law and Justice has been at the forefront of the war on terror, in Congress and the courts, and we continue to do so. We are strongly supporting this legislation.

NO CITIZENSHIP FOR TERRORISTS PETITION

[[OFFICIALS]]

I am an American citizen, and I love this country. Terrorists are committing to disrupting and destroying it, taking lives and striking fear in the hearts of all. When a U.S. citizen betrays our nation by joining a State Department-designated terrorist organization, that individuals citizenship should absolutely be revoked. It is outrageous to think that such a person should receive the rights and privileges, advantages and benefits, prerogatives and protections afforded to the American citizens he is committed to destroying.

I urge speedy passage of the Terrorist Expatriation Act, which would appropriately strip citizenship from terrorists.
