Stop Government Seizure of Homes and Churches

Stop the injustice! The Supreme Court of the United States ruled in Kelo v. New London that the government may seize the home, small business, or other private property of one citizen and transfer it to another private citizen - if the transfer would boost the community's economic development or increase its tax base. Since then, the Justices refused to review the case again. This ruling is in direct violation of your Fifth Amendment right - the right to own property. To help the American Center for Law and Justice fight back in support of your rights and protection of constitutional freedom, sign our Petition to Protect Private Property Rights to Congress. We will see to it that your voice is heard in our nation! Please read the form carefully and declare your membership with the ACLJ by signing the Petition below.

Petition to Protect Private Property Rights

[[OFFICIALS]]

We strongly support Senator John Cornyn's bill, ''The Protection of Homes, Small Businesses, and Private Property Act of 2005,'' which would end the transfer of private property without consent of the owner for the sole purpose of economic development.

The right to own property is a constitutional freedom and should be protected. It is a freedom bestowed on us by our Founding Fathers, and we will not tolerate this blatant disregard of our entitlement.

The recent Supreme Court ruling allowing the government the power to take a home, church, small business, or any parcel of private property from one citizen and give it to another for the benefit of economic advancement is flawed. We urge your careful review and strong support for passage of this bill.
