A Connecticut school denied a student-led Bible study club the right to participate in the school’s activity fair. The activity fair introduces all incoming freshmen to student groups, clubs, and sports at the school. The school administration, however, said the Christian club was not allowed to participate in the activity fair.

On December 16, the ACLJ spoke with the mother of a student in the group and provided her with information about her daughter’s rights and the rights of the student club. The mother met with school officials and shared the information we provided. School officials relented and the student group has received permission to be part of the activity fair.

We applaud the decision of the school principal to rightfully allow the Christian student club to participate in the school activity fair. This is a great victory for religious freedom and the rights of students. Merry Christmas!
