MSNBC: Democracy Will Fall If GOP Wins
Democracy will fall if Republicans win the Midterms on Tuesday. At least according to MSNBC.
That’s right folks, according to presidential historian Michael Beschloss who just appeared on MSNBC and claimed that the United States is “on the edge of a brutal authoritarian system" if Republicans win control of Congress in next week’s Midterm elections.
Check out the full outlandish claim from Beschloss:
[A] historian 50 years from now - if historians are allowed to write in this country and if there are still free publishing houses and a free press - which I’m not certain of - but if that is true, a historian will say what was at stake tonight and this week was the fact whether we will be a democracy in the future, whether our children will be arrested and conceivably killed.
This is truly deranged rhetoric. Is this leftist “expert” truly going on the record claiming that if Republicans win, children will be killed? Is he confused on where each side falls in the abortion debate? Conservatives aren’t the threat to babies. This is all a clear sign that the radical Left can sense a change in the winds just a few days before Tuesday, which may prove to be their own high noon.
ACLJ Senior Counsel for Global Affairs and former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo broke down what he believes is another desperate misdirection by President Biden and the flailing Left to fear-monger voters:
First, it sounds desperate to me. You know, when you only have a nail, everything’s a hammer. And you can’t talk about people’s lives, you can’t talk about energy prices, you can’t talk about schools, all those things are things the American people know the [Left] and President Biden have made worse for them, so you have to go with this Apocalyptic light, but you have to try and panic people into going out and voting. I don’t think it will work as a practical matter.
Sec. Pompeo also expressed his own disappointment in a sitting U.S. President – one who ran on a promise to unite the country – literally demonizing half (or more) of the people he claims to represent:
It’s just indecent for the President of the United States to go out and say that someone like you, me, people who are Republicans who have been part of the Conservative movement for a long time, to say somehow that we’re trying to destroy our republic and our democracy. This guy campaigned on uniting America, and he has taken at least half of the United States – I think more than that – and told them that they are not patriots, not American patriots, and that’s just wrong. It’s indecent. And I hope that when this is over, that President Biden will come back and apologize to those Americans who are just trying to take care of themselves, their communities, their churches and synagogues, and their families.
And as my dad ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow added, the radical Left has become blinded by its own hypocrisy:
We live in a constitutional republic. And we have a country that is deeply divided politically, and that’s ok, a lot of countries are deeply divided politically. But for one party to say if you vote for the other party it’s the end of democracy as we know it, is such a, not only an overreach, but it’s so disparaging to half the populace, as if their way is the only way. So you know with all their liberal talk, they’re not very liberal in their ideas of inclusive thinking about other people’s ideas.
Today’s full Sekulow broadcast includes further in-depth analysis of this latest preposterous claim by the desperate Left as we roll on toward Tuesday’s critical Midterm Elections, including more with the ACLJ’s Mike Pompeo.
