President Biden’s Secretary of Education is rightly being ridiculed after misquoting President Reagan about the government. As you likely know, Reagan’s famous quote is, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: I’m from the Government, and I’m here to help.”

Yet Biden’s Education Chief horribly botched the quote in a pathetic attempt to rewrite history:

Social media users gave Education Secretary Miguel Cardona a failing grade on Monday after appearing to butcher one of President Ronald Reagan’s more famous quotes.

At the 2023 Winter Meeting for the Western Governors’ Association in Jackson Hole, Wyoming earlier this month, Cardona commented on the need for “technical assistance” to be provided to schools. During the event, he invoked the former president to try and make a point.

He said, “I think it was President Reagan who said, ‘We’re from the government. We’re here to help.’”

No, Secretary Cardona, I don’t think we need help from this government anytime soon. Especially from leaders who can’t differentiate between an attack on the government and praise of the government.

Sec. Cardona is Biden’s handpicked person in charge of public education for the majority of American children. Yet he can’t even get a simple quote right. Even people who weren’t alive when Reagan was President have likely heard this quote. Shouldn’t someone of Sec. Cardona’s stature have better foresight in recognizing that a young staffer probably provided him a quote out of context?

The Secretary of Education – who sets the tone for how our kids are educated –is quoting former Presidents incorrectly to promote an agenda of a bigger government that controls every aspect of your life. This is just unbelievable.

If you bring this much public embarrassment to the Administration, you should turn in your resignation papers. How can we trust you to educate our children? But we know that’s not how the current Administration works – Cardona will get a pass.

The far Left also believes it should control who you get to vote for in a presidential primary election. As you know, the ACLJ has been battling in multiple states – and winning – against a radical interpretation of the 14th Amendment that will deny voters the right to vote for the candidate of their choice.

We were recently victorious in Colorado against a lawsuit invoking the 14th Amendment to “disqualify” President Trump from the state’s primary ballot. A Colorado judge rightly ruled that the Constitution’s disqualification clause is inapplicable to President Trump even though she believed the President was guilty of inciting an insurrection.

The Colorado Supreme Court has agreed to take up the case again after the judge’s ruling was appealed. The ACLJ just filed our response and will be prepared to fight the appeal at the Colorado Supreme Court in the days ahead. We will keep you updated.
