In Oregon, speaking the truth about Islam can cost you your job. A teacher at Lane Community College was scheduled to teach a class on Islam introducing students primarily to the Quran and other broad-ranging viewpoints on Islam.
But the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) a bully organization with ties to terrorism objected to the course and pressured the school into firing the teacher.
Enough is enough. The American Center for Law and Justice is representing the Oregon teacher, standing up for his constitutionally-protected free speech rights. The ACLJ is demanding the school rehire the teacher and reinstate the class.
Stand with the ACLJ now and help send a strong message to the community college and to CAIR: Stop the intimidation.

Committee to Reject Terror Groups and Protect Free Speech Rights
The knee-jerk decision by Lane Community College (LCC) to cancel a teachers course due to pressure from the Islamic organization CAIR flies in the face of the First Amendments protection of academic freedom.
LCC has grossly trampled upon First Amendment free speech rights and is promoting censorship in an attempt to quell controversy.
Furthermore, it is important to note that CAIR has been described by the FBI as a front group for the terrorist organization Hamas. They are an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas-linked terror case and the FBI has discontinued all contact with CAIR because of its ties to terrorism.
While CAIR is free to exercise its freedom of speech to criticize viewpoints with which it disagrees, LCC is not free to breach a contract, censor viewpoints, or stifle First Amendment rights in the name of sensitivity or political correctness. The law is clear: LCC must reinstate the teachers course and allow him to teach.
