Victory Update: Pro-Life Billboards Are Saving Lives – The Numbers Prove It
Listen tothis article
Sometimes a victory doesn’t announce itself all at once. Sometimes it shows up quietly, months later, in the numbers.
As we reported previously, the ACLJ stepped in after a billboard company attempted to block a Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) from advertising Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) – a safe, legal, and increasingly well-documented option for women who have taken the first dose of the abortion pill regimen and changed their minds. Our client, Stanton Healthcare, exists to serve and help women, and it passionately believes as many women as possible need to know about the pill reversal option. (Is it a “choice” or not?)
Stanton refused to stand down and turned to the ACLJ for legal assistance. The billboard company reversed course, and the signs went up.
Now, we have a big update, and it’s an encouraging one.
Since those billboards went up in Idaho, our client reported more Abortion Pill Reversal referral cases in the past four months than it received in the previous two years combined. That is not a marginal increase. That is a dramatic, measurable surge in women reaching out for help, information, and a second chance – directly traceable to a handful of signs that a billboard company almost refused to run. If Stanton Healthcare had backed down, or had we not engaged, the story would have been different.
This is exactly the kind of result the ACLJ works for: not press releases, but women who see a sign on the side of the road and decide to make a phone call that could change everything.
We don’t fight these battles for the sake of the fight; instead, we fight to help innocent people, to protect the vulnerable, and to vindicate God-given, constitutionally protected rights.
It’s also a case study in why this matters. PRCs operate in what should be a free marketplace of ideas and services. When a private company – under pressure, real or perceived, from activists opposed to the pro-life message – refuses standard commercial advertising for a lawful, life-affirming service, it isn’t just denying ad space. It’s silencing one side of a conversation that women deserve to hear in full before making one of the most consequential decisions of their lives.
Abortion Pill Reversal itself has faced years of coordinated efforts to discredit it, remove it from public awareness, and keep women from ever learning it exists. Every billboard, every ad, and every accurate piece of public information is a small act of resistance against that campaign – and, as these numbers show, a lifesaving one.
The lesson here extends well beyond one billboard company in one city or state. When pro-life organizations are pushed out of the public square – off billboards, off search results, off social media platforms – women lose access to real options. When we push back and win, as we did here, the results aren’t hypothetical. They show up in referral logs, in phone calls, and ultimately, in lives saved.
The ACLJ will keep fighting for the right of PRCs and pro-life advocates to speak in the public square, on equal footing with anyone else. This latest data doesn’t just vindicate that fight – it proves why it’s worth having.
We’ll keep you updated as this story develops. In the meantime, if you or someone you know has taken the first pill in a chemical abortion and wants more information about reversal, help is available immediately.
