11 Planned Parenthood Lies: What They Don’t Want You To Know About Missouri’s Pro-Life Laws
Listen tothis article
Planned Parenthood is waging an all-out legal assault on commonsense pro-life laws nationwide – laws designed to protect women and defend unborn children. We’re fighting directly against Planned Parenthood in court, alongside the Missouri Attorney General, to defend these life-affirming statutes in Missouri. But while Planned Parenthood fights in court to overturn these protections, they’re also spreading dangerous lies to the public – misrepresenting what these laws actually do and why they matter. These lies aren’t just misleading – they’re central to Planned Parenthood’s legal arguments. Here’s what they’re saying – and here’s the truth.
Lie: Abortion is a fundamental right.
Truth: There is no right to kill another human being. The legal justification from Roe v. Wade is no longer the law of the land. The U.S. Supreme Court has once and for all stated that.
Lie: Abortion is healthcare.
Truth: Abortion is not healthcare; it is the death of a distinct human being with unique DNA who has never existed before and will never exist again.
Lie: Prohibiting abortion based on the age of a baby is a bad thing.
Truth: Protecting all life, whether days-old or weeks-old in the womb, is a good thing. Anything else is the ending of a life.
Lie: Receiving an ultrasound before receiving a surgical abortion is medically unnecessary.
Truth: Requiring an ultrasound prior to an abortion is critical for appropriate medical care.
Lie: Requiring written information prior to an abortion is deceptive, medically unnecessary, and biased.
Truth: Women should be educated prior to making a life-altering medical decision.
Lie: Having to see an in-person doctor before receiving a surgical abortion is a burden and medically unnecessary.
Truth: In-person doctor visits are critical for determining appropriate medical care.
Lie: Requiring in-person visits for receiving the chemical pill is burdensome and medically unnecessary.
Truth: Requiring these critical visits prevents unintended adverse medical events like hemorrhaging or other medical complications from the chemical abortion pill.
Lie: Requiring abortion clinics to meet the same standards as a walk-in medical clinic is an undue burden on abortion.
Truth: Planned Parenthood claims to be a medical provider and provides surgical abortions. Yet it refuses to be bound by the laws that require basic health and safety standards in medical clinics. Planned Parenthood should be required to treat patients with clean equipment and sterile environments. Anything less is gross negligence.
Lie: Government regulation of abortion endangers black and minority communities.
Truth: One of the laws Planned Parenthood considers burdensome in Missouri is a law that considers it abhorrent to use abortion to disproportionately affect black and other minority communities. Planned Parenthood has a long history of targeting minority communities – and babies – for abortion. Planned Parenthood was founded by a eugenicist, Margaret Sanger, who espoused despicable racist ideologies to propagate abortion.
Lie: Planned Parenthood doesn’t support sex-selective abortion.
Truth: One of the laws Planned Parenthood considers burdensome in Missouri is a law that considers sex-selective abortion abhorrent. Planned Parenthood wants to legalize sex-selective abortions.
Lie: The abortion industry doesn’t support abortion based on a fetal diagnosis of Down syndrome or other diagnoses.
Truth: One of the laws Planned Parenthood considers burdensome in Missouri is a law that considers it abhorrent to have an abortion after a fetal diagnosis of Down syndrome (or another fetal diagnosis). Planned Parenthood is literally trying to legalize the killing of unborn babies with Down syndrome through abortion.
The ACLJ is fighting in court to stop Planned Parenthood from dismantling Missouri’s lifesaving laws. These are the facts the abortion industry doesn’t want the court – or the public – to hear. But we’re not backing down. We’re prepared to fight Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit all the way through the court system to defend Missouri’s right to protect the unborn and ensure women’s health and safety. Lives are at stake – and the truth matters.
