Devious Congressional Tactic - Enough is Enough!

The people of Massachusetts have spoken. The states voters have put a Republican in the U.S. Senate seat held for decades by the late Senator Edward Kennedy. This dramatically changes the equation in Washington! Senate Democrats no longer have 60 votes to guarantee passage of the troubling health care legislation, with its abortion funding.

With the ballots counted and the outcome clear, its time to seat newly-elected Senator Scott Brown without delay and permit him to take part in the legislative process including casting a vote for health care reform. Any attempt to shut him out of this process circumvents this election and clearly denies the will of the people of Massachusetts. Stand with the ACLJ and demand that Congress seat Senator Brown immediately while not moving forward on health care until he is able to vote with the rest of the Senate. Please read the form below carefully and declare your membership with the ACLJ by adding your name to our Petition to Seat the Senator.

PETITION TO SEAT THE SENATOR

TO:
U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell
U.S. House of Representatives Majority Speaker Nancy Pelosi
U.S. House of Representatives Republican Speaker John Boehner

The people have spoken, and Scott Brown has been duly elected Senator from Massachusetts. It would violate the spirit of the law to delay his seating or deny him a vote on health care reform, one of the most enormously important pieces of legislation in our lifetime. We urge you to respect the integrity of the Massachusetts election, giving the people a voice in Congress, and swear in Senator Brown without further delay.
