The Fight To Confirm President Trump’s Cabinet Is Underway
Listen tothis article
Is President Donald Trump’s Cabinet pick for the Department of Defense in jeopardy? The media is spinning up stories to fuel speculation that Trump could replace decorated U.S. Army veteran and Fox News’ host Pete Hegseth with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for Secretary of Defense. Also, the media is going after Kash Patel, Trump’s choice to run the FBI.
With the firestorm that’s happening on Capitol Hill, I’m focusing on the facts today. The media smells blood in the water and is doing its best to cause as much friction within Trump’s incoming Administration and amid the Senate confirmations.
Until President Trump goes in a different direction for Secretary of Defense, Hegseth is still in the running. That being said, Governor Ron DeSantis would be qualified for the position. He has extensive military experience and a strong record in running the state of Florida.
Regardless of who becomes the Secretary of Defense, one of their primary tasks will be to clean up the DOD. The Pentagon just failed its seventh straight audit, and reports just came out that the Navy’s amphibious fleet transports are in poor condition. Right now, the military is in dire need of new leadership.
The American people are also tired of the military’s woke policies. Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has pushed back against the Biden-Harris Administration’s woke agenda for the DOD. He elaborated:
I’m confident that whoever President Trump picks and gets confirmed will . . . return the military to its core focus. That report about the condition of the equipment mirrors the condition of the recruitment process. The military is missing its recruitment goals by staggering amounts, leaving the military too small, undermanned, and unprepared for the next generation of leaders as well. And so whoever comes in to be the next Secretary of Defense has got a management-people issue, and that is returning to mission: not talking about climate change, not talking about DEI, [but] talking about war-fighting skills and how to deliver a military capable of deterring our adversaries.
We’ll be keeping an eye on what happens with Trump’s Cabinet pick for Secretary of Defense. Today will likely be a significant day for Hegseth’s candidacy going forward.
As I mentioned earlier, another Trump pick under fire is Kash Patel for FBI Director. Patel has been very outspoken in calling for the Deep State DOJ to be held accountable for being weaponized against the American people and political opponents. As a result, many in the mainstream media claim he is too “dangerous” to run the DOJ.
Nobody knows Patel better than former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell – Patel worked directly under Ric during Trump’s first term. Grenell explained why Patel is not too radical to be FBI Director:
Kash Patel is somebody who is fighting for the American people, not for the Washington powerful. The Washington elite definitely is freaking out. . . . Kash is somebody who was a public defender when he came out of law school. He then became a government prosecutor. Tell me who in the world right now has been a public defender, a government prosecutor, and somebody who’s worked on Capitol Hill to uncover so much of what the government craziness and political prosecutions have been doing to the American people. Kash Patel as the FBI Director couldn’t make me more excited. He literally is the perfect pick.
Ric concluded by saying that anyone else with Patel’s résumé would be universally celebrated and confirmed by all 100 U.S. Senators. But because he’s not a Leftist, much of Washington and the media is opposed to his candidacy.
The Deep State won’t be thrilled with either of Trump’s picks being confirmed. And that’s a good sign because the D.C. swamp must get drained.
