SHOCKING: Jimmy Kimmel’s Plans Revealed
Listen tothis article
The far Left is in full meltdown mode after ABC (owned by Disney) pulled the plug indefinitely on Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show. Many mainstream media and Hollywood stars, and even former President Barack Obama, are accusing the Trump Administration of forcing the FCC to censor Kimmel. However, we now know that behind the scenes, Kimmel wouldn’t apologize and planned to double down on his disgraceful attack on MAGA supporters and Charlie Kirk.
Since we now know Kimmel refused to heed the network’s instructions to tone down his untruthful claims about blaming conservatives for Kirk’s death, no one should be shocked by the outcome.
Also, let’s consider Disney’s perspective. It clearly decided it was worth the blowback to suspend Kimmel. So his rhetoric and actions were concerning enough for Disney to take the risk.
Ironically, many of our far-Left friends on social media are calling for boycotts of Disney+. And according to Hollywood and the media, we’re supposed to believe that Jimmy Kimmel Live being suspended is the straw that broke the camel’s back for censorship in America? They’re voicing outrage over a show they probably never actually watched.
And we can’t underestimate that Disney likely made a business decision. It knows more people will stream Disney+ more than the nightly one million or so viewers who still watch Kimmel. Combine that with the production costs for a show broadcasting on Hollywood Boulevard – Kimmel alone was making $16 million annually – no way his show was making a profit. So his actions likely gave them an out.
U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Special Missions Ric Grenell reacted to the latest news about Kimmel:
We’re not for policing people’s mean speech. Even protected speech is speech that we don’t like and that is uncomfortable. But there’s a fundamental difference between celebrating violence and being at a corporation or a job where it has become a problem because you’re celebrating violence. And so, you’re free to say that, but your corporation, the business that you work for, is also free to say, This isn’t a good look for us, and we’re going to let you go. We have been consistent that free speech is absolutely protected by the Constitution, yet there are consequences when you say certain things.
Now, the Left has not been consistent because they’ve switched the argument. First, it was, your words are a problem, and words are what need to be policed, and that’s what led to cancel culture. And now they’re suddenly trying to say, we embrace the First Amendment, when there are consequences for their words.
Finally, let’s contrast Kimmel’s dismissal with what happened to our latest ACLJ client, John, who was an HR manager for The Timken Company. John was fired, despite a stellar record, for wearing a cross necklace and keeping a Bible on his desk.
Did he do anything controversial at work, such as preaching at people or causing disruptions? No, he quietly lived out his faith just as the Bible calls us all to do.
He was fired for his Christian faith. That’s illegal.
The ACLJ sent Timken a demand letter on September 2, making it clear that John had the right to live out his faith without interference. On September 8, Timken’s employee relations manager – despite knowing the ACLJ’s involvement – refused to speak with our attorneys, met with John directly, and assured him he could keep his Bible and wear his cross openly.
Unfortunately, just three days later, Timken fired John. The timing of this retaliation is undeniable. Courts have consistently held that firing an employee within days of asserting protected rights is strong evidence of unlawful retaliation. That’s exactly what happened here.
We just sent a second demand letter to Timken, hoping that this retaliatory action will be taken seriously and that Timken will make our client whole. If not, we will file a complaint in administrative court with the EEOC to vindicate John’s rights.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of Kimmel’s plans to double down on his outrageous claims about Trump supporters and Charlie Kirk. Also, Jaclyn Stapp joined to discuss her efforts to “Make America Fentanyl Free,” and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo explained the U.N. Security Council’s decision regarding sanctions on Iran.
