President Trump’s Phone Call Reveals Latest on Elon
Listen tothis article
Well, it happened, and most of us expected the breakup earlier. The partnership between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk is officially over. On a phone call with CNN’s Dana Bash, Trump shared his thoughts on his future relationship with Elon.
President Donald Trump told CNN on Friday he is “not even thinking about” billionaire Elon Musk and won’t be speaking to him in the near future.
“I’m not even thinking about Elon. He’s got a problem. The poor guy’s got a problem,” Trump said in a brief phone call.
The comments come after a day Trump and Musk traded barbs on social media as their relationship deteriorated in spectacular public fashion. . . .
In his call with CNN Friday morning, Trump talked about the forthcoming jobs report, which has since been released, inflation and gas prices. Asked if he had a call with Musk, the president responded: “No. I won’t be speaking to him for a while I guess, but I wish him well.”
That phone call occurred this morning, and the latest in the feud is that the White House announced that Elon would like to speak to Trump, but he’s not interested.
Now Elon is a brilliant man. He’s clearly a genius with all the technological advances he’s brought to our country. I don’t want to take anything away from his achievements.
But as I suspected, once Elon started to drain the swamp a bit, he realized that D.C. doesn’t work like a business. You can’t just issue orders and expect changes to happen instantly.
And then the “big, beautiful bill” probably conflicted with much of what DOGE sought to accomplish. So when Elon started bashing it publicly, which is what he does, it got ugly fast between him and Trump.
If you have two billionaires with two big egos in the same room together for a long period of time, you’re likely going to have a blowup eventually. But notice that Trump is still taking phone calls even with CNN behind closed doors. He’s still working to keep the country on track.
We will see where the feud goes from here. I hope for the better of the country that it ends sooner rather than later. The Trump Administration has too much to accomplish to get bogged down in this dispute.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of the feud between President Trump and Elon Musk. Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell reacted to DHS shutting down the “Quiet Skies” program.
