President Trump Stops WWIII, Massachusetts Comes After Pro-Life Centers, and an Illinois Town Tries To Make Pro-Life Speech a Criminal Matter

The New York Times is reporting that President Donald Trump convinced Israel not to attack Iran’s nuclear weapon sites, choosing to try diplomatic negotiations instead. As a result, Israel called off the attack because it needed U.S. support and military equipment.
As much as the far Left wants the public to believe that Trump is itching to cause international conflict, we’ve learned thus far that his Administration is not war-hungry. No new wars began under his first watch, and it appears that Trump wants to avoid chaos in the Middle East as much as possible.
Of course, this doesn’t mean the Trump Administration will choose to delay forever. We could reach a point where America decides that enough is enough with Iran. But we don’t have to do that before attempting fresh negotiations, and I’m glad the Trump team is willing to have conversations with Iran and try to get them to dismantle their nuclear weapon program without bloodshed.
In ACLJ-related news, we have an update regarding our fight to defend Pregnancy Resource Centers (PRCs) from a taxpayer-funded smear campaign in Massachusetts. If we don’t take action, other states could follow suit and target the lifesaving services of PRCs. Too often, people forget that PRCs also take care of mothers postpartum, providing clothing, baby supplies, and emotional support. Their services are invaluable.
Our lawsuit is against Governor Maura Healey and Health Commissioner Robbie Goldstein, as well as a prominent abortion lobbying group, Reproductive Equity Now, and its president, Rebecca Hart Holder, for launching what we believe is a coordinated, unconstitutional smear campaign aimed at shutting down PRCs, like our client, and promoting abortion-only messaging.
At the end of last year, all the defendants filed motions to dismiss our case. We’ve filed legal arguments explaining why our case must go forward, and now we’ll have the opportunity to make those arguments in court. The judge has scheduled a hearing for May 8, where both sides will appear to argue whether the lawsuit should be dismissed or allowed to proceed. Please pray that our fight will continue.
And it’s not only in Massachusetts where the far Left targets pro-life advocates. The ACLJ intervened in real-time outside an abortion clinic yesterday while we were live on the air.
A member of our ACLJ digital team was working on our broadcast when he received an urgent text message from a pastor friend: “I need help.” Several members of his church were in the process of getting ticketed by the police for peaceful pro-life signs outside a rural Illinois Planned Parenthood. The pro-life advocates knew their rights and were appropriately following city ordinances – the city didn’t care and threatened citation or arrest.
Our team member sprang into action and connected the pastor with three ACLJ attorneys in Washington, D.C., in less than five minutes. On speakerphone, our ACLJ attorneys de-escalated the situation with the police.
The police stood down, and the pro-life advocates didn’t receive any citations. However, the situation is far from over. We are sending a demand letter to the city to ensure that pro-life advocates outside the Illinois Planned Parenthood no longer have their First Amendment rights to free speech violated.
We are so proud of our legal team for acting so quickly. We were literally able to help pro-life advocates – free of charge – in the span of minutes.
Folks, that’s the power of the ACLJ at work every day across America – and it’s all thanks to the generous support of our donors. Be sure to donate during our Life & Liberty Drive. Gifts are doubled and support our fight to defend those who fight to save the unborn.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of President Trump convincing Israel not to launch an attack on Iran. ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell reacted to California suing Trump over the tariffs.
