President Trump Says He Is Now the Hunter, Not the Hunted
Listen tothis article
Has the hunted now become the hunter? At a ceremony unveiling two new flagpoles at the White House, President Donald Trump told a reporter that much has changed during his second term in the White House: “I was the hunted. And now I’m the hunter. It’s a big difference.”
Trump’s cryptic message could allude to several issues: Iran plotting to kill him, the mainstream media’s relentless attacks on him, the far Left’s lawfare to impeach and imprison him, etc. Regardless, Trump’s tone was very confident and combative.
So far, the U.S. has not indicated that intervention in Iran is imminent, though we remain supportive of Israel’s mission to prevent Iran from gaining nuclear capabilities. Trump has repeatedly stated that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon, and he wants the conflict to end.
ACLJ Senior Counsel for International and Government Affairs Jeff Ballabon explained the danger of Iran achieving full uranium enrichment:
The nuclear weapons that Iran is absolutely trying to achieve and is extremely close to achieving represent a direct and existential threat to the U.S. And I know we don’t want to terrify everybody, but there are government reports that make it very clear that in very likely, very easy-to-arrange circumstances, if nuclear weapons launched by someone like Iran, specifically Iran, [they] would hit the continental U.S or achieve its airspace. It could shut down our entire grid. It literally becomes an existential threat, not just to the idea of the U.S. and the government, but to the lives of every man, woman, and child in America. And so Israel is not asking America to fight Israel’s war at all, and everyone is trying to use this as a way to separate Israel from America. It’s really terrifying for Americans because Americans need better information about what the risks are to us.
Many are theorizing that the U.S. could help neutralize Iran’s nuclear weapon capabilities once and for all. We have bombs strong enough to penetrate Iran’s underground Fordow facility.
I also know that many conservatives are divided on the issue of whether the U.S. should officially get involved in Israel’s conflict with Iran. If we did, it’d likely be with airstrikes rather than an actual invasion with troops on the ground. We will keep you updated on the escalating conflict.
My brother, ACLJ Executive Director Jordan Sekulow, joined us with an update from Strasbourg, France:
Today we met with the ambassador from Hungary to the Council of Europe, their permanent representative. We’re hosting a reception tonight at the European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ), with a number of members of the European Parliament, and some of those members of the European Parliament and some other ambassadors will also be joining us tonight here at the ECLJ in Strasbourg, France. Many of these ambassadors are coming from governments, and the members of the European Parliament are coming from political parties that are pretty much in line with where we are politically, and that is quite a statement to make. . . .
It’s quite a statement to make that we have elected members of the European Parliament, including some national elected leaders who are now favoring a U.S.-style conservatism. I mean, each country’s got its own unique way of looking at that, and I wouldn’t want to put our entire system on them, but what I think is really cool is that we now are entering a stage in Europe – and I think it’s a dire moment in the world – but we’re entering a stage in Europe because of our decades of work here that we have elected representatives to now work with who share our values, who share our goals, and want to see [our] legal fight.
The ACLJ’s global efforts to advocate for Israel, persecuted Christians, and U.S. interests are funded solely by our ACLJ Members and Champions. We can’t thank you enough for your support. Please consider donating to our important work.
