President Donald Trump has approved attack plans on Iran. At the same time, the U.S. embassy in Israel is evacuating nonessential workers and family members. To be clear, the plans have only been approved – not carried out.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth had provided the possible war plans to President Trump, detailing how the U.S. would attack Iran. I assume it would involve airstrikes on the notorious Fordo nuclear facility that’s hidden underground.

We also woke up this morning to the tragic news of Iran mercilessly bombing a hospital in Beersheba. More than 70 people were reported injured.

My dad, ACLJ Chief Counsel Jay Sekulow, reacted to the hospital attack:

The attack on the hospital that took place last night is a violation of the Law of Armed Conflict. It violates the Geneva Convention, , Article 18 in particular, which states that hospitals are off limits unless they’re being used for military purposes. . . . So it is a complete violation of the Law of Armed Conflict. It’s a complete violation of international law.

I instructed our legal team this morning to prepare a protest letter that goes to both the U.N. and the Security Council, as well as the ICC. They’re very quick, these entities – these international tribunals – they’re very quick to attack Israel, to bring charges against Israel. They currently have Benjamin Netanyahu under indictment, which is absurd, but there you have it. Here, you have an attack on a civilian hospital that clearly violates the Law of Armed Conflict in international law, and we’ve heard nothing from these international tribunals.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised that Israel would retaliate for the ruthless attack. Further, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that Supreme Leader Khamenei can no longer “continue to exist.” We will see if and how Israel responds.

As my dad mentioned, the ACLJ will not stand idly by while the international community condemns Israel after Iran violates the Law of Armed Conflict. Tomorrow we are sending a demand letter to the Secretary-General of the U.N. to end this disgraceful silence on brutality.

While many back home are arguing about Israel’s right to stop Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, CNN guest Jennifer Welch just disgustingly attacked evangelical Christians by calling them “rapture preppers.” In other words, they only support Israel because they believe it will usher in the Second Coming of Jesus.

Of course, even among evangelicals, the biblical teaching of a rapture is a highly debated topic. Regardless, the latest CNN attack is nothing more than ignorantly mischaracterizing evangelicals as religious fanatics. It’s a pathetic attack that falls in line with a “basket of deplorables.

ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell responded to CNN’s attack on Christians:

As an evangelical Christian, as somebody who believes in Revelation, I think that Jennifer is totally offensive in her comments. I think we should invite Jennifer on here to have a nice debate about it. We can talk about what our beliefs are for the end times, but that has nothing to do with the protection of Israel. The protection of Israel, by the way, is in the Old Testament to talk about Jerusalem and protecting the homeland. It is just so offensive and so ignorant for her to pretend like somehow we’re pushing Revelation along, like we have anything to do with it. . . . If we could push the end times, my mother would have already done it.

Ric’s joke about his mom was hilarious – an all-time Sekulow classic one-liner. But he’s right about CNN’s comments grossly misrepresenting evangelicals.

The comments are also a microcosm of the far Left’s relentless war on Christianity. That’s why the ACLJ continually fights to protect religious liberty nationwide. Read about our latest case defending a young girl whose Bible posters were ripped down by school officials.
