President Obama Enters Disturbing Campaign To Save Election
Listen tothis article
President Barack Obama will reportedly appear at Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed’s rally to save the midterms for the Left in Detroit. Will a boost from Obama ensure the Democrat Party a majority win in the U.S. Senate?
As reported by The Hill:
Former President Obama is set to rally later this month in Michigan for Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed, who’s in a must-win battleground race against Republican Mike Rogers.
“It is my honor and privilege to announce that President @BarackObama is joining us on the trail in Detroit on Saturday, October 24,” El-Sayed announced on the social platform X.
We are four weeks from Election Day. Of course, for much of the country every day is now essentially Election Day heading right up to November 3rd, as many states have already begun early voting or will within the next week or so. But we can now expect to see the final big push for the midterms on both sides.
And last night, it was announced that the Left is showing its claws, sending former President Barack Obama to the Wolverine State on October 24 to campaign for far-Left Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed.
This is an interesting move in the context of all the negative news stories we’re hearing, touting how poorly conservative candidates are doing across the country. Many are claiming they are going to get thumped in this election. But if the far Left is so confident that they have the midterms in the bag, why drag their heavy hitter back out to the mound?
The former President seems to be the top campaigner for the far Left, but surely, he doesn’t have to travel all the way to Michigan when he can easily post on X or shoot an ad and still have considerable influence. Perhaps the fact that they want Obama on the stage with El-Sayed reveals that, while the far Left may believe they have a good chance in Michigan, even they know victory is far from guaranteed.
Maybe they realize that mainstream voters in Michigan might still be put off by the more radical, socialist leanings, not to mention Islamic talking points, that have come from El-Sayed. Bringing the more beloved Obama back into the picture may feel like better optics. But I would argue it also indicates that even the Left thinks this Michigan race is still winnable by conservative Mike Rogers.
The latest Real Clear Polling average has El-Sayed at 47.8% and Mike Rogers at 44.2%. However, El-Sayed was polling way ahead of Haley Stevens in the primary and won by the skin of his teeth. So, if you are the El-Sayed campaign, being only 3.5 points up is far from a done deal, especially with a month to go.
Let’s not forget that President Trump won there in 2024, and that was also by a narrow margin. You wouldn’t be sending Barack Obama to Michigan unless you believed he needed to be there, and he doesn’t need to be there if it looks like you’re going to cruise to victory. It’s a waste of his time.
Michigan is a race that conservatives should not give up on, but they need to ramp up their engagement if they want any shot at controlling the Senate majority.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included more analysis of this curious move on the part of the far Left, sending President Obama to Michigan to campaign for El-Sayed, as well as the latest polling information. We also spoke with head of ACLJ Jerusalem Jeff Ballabon to discuss preparations in Israel for tomorrow’s somber anniversary of the October 7 terror attacks by Hamas.
