New Jersey Election Nightmare Exposed

New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill blamed 6,600 noncitizens’ voter registrations on a “software error.” Has election integrity been compromised before the 2026 midterm elections?

Over 6,000 people who were not U.S. citizens were erroneously registered to vote in New Jersey from June 2023 to June 2024 due to a software error in the state’s Department of Motor Vehicles, New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) said on Tuesday.

Less than 400 individuals in this group actually voted, according to the state’s preliminary analysis.

Sherrill, who was not governor at the time this error occurred, said that she “immediately” launched an investigation into the matter after she was notified last week and has instructed the removal of any non-citizens added to the voter rolls.

The governor said a “serious software error” occurred in the state’s Motor Vehicle System forms to apply for drivers’ licenses and other forms of state identification. Sherrill said that 6,600 people responded on these forms that they were not U.S. citizens and “through no fault of their own, the system registered them anyway.”

“I am appalled by the reckless failures that allowed this to happen and the lack of transparency shown by those in charge at the time,” Sherrill wrote in a statement shared on the social platform X.

“This failure didn’t occur under my watch, but accountability starts now,” she continued. “I am taking action to prevent anything like it from occurring in the future and make sure those responsible are held accountable.”

This news comes amid renewed warnings from President Trump and his administration about weaknesses in the U.S. election system ahead of the midterm elections.

We spend a lot of time talking about election integrity, and with so many questions being raised across the country, it’s easy to lose track of what’s happening. But now New Jersey has pulled the subject right back into the spotlight.

The reality is that even if the 6,600 registrations were an honest mistake, as the state insists, it still raises serious questions. During a routine visit to the DMV, registering to vote is often just another part of the process. In fact, under the National Voter Registration Act of 1993, many driver’s license transactions include voter registration. So how did the “software error” occur?

The timing of the revelation is also interesting, as earlier this month, the Department of Homeland Security raised concerns about the number of noncitizens appearing on New Jersey’s voter rolls. State officials argue the “software error” explains at least part of that discrepancy, but the episode is likely to fuel continued debate over election integrity and the safeguards states have in place to protect their voter registration systems.

U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Ric Grenell joined the broadcast to share his fears that this is only the beginning of the voter fraud bombshells:

Well, look, first of all, let’s recount what the Left has told us. They told us that there was no fraud, and then they’ve migrated into no widespread fraud, but at the same time they’re not investigating, so how would they even know if it’s widespread or not? And we now are finding out that there was significant fraud that they hid.

I want to know why the last governor didn’t come forward with this information – why did we hear about this now? It’s way too late. When there’s fraud in an election, there needs to be alarm bells going off immediately, not some sort of a report that comes out in the next administration.

I think this spells disaster for not only New Jersey, but certainly my home state of California and for a whole bunch of other blue states where we know there’s fraud. And the way that the fraud is done, I can tell you in California, is that the voter rolls become bloated. They don’t purge them the way they’re supposed to when people move out, die, or have a change of residence. They’re supposed to purge the voter rolls every two to three years. California doesn’t do it. It allows the voter rolls to be bloated, and then Gavin Newsom has decided that every single name on the voter roll gets sent a ballot through the mail. Not a sample ballot, but a real ballot.

And so, every Californian will tell you that they have seen ballots in the mail for people who no longer live at the house. . . . Somebody’s using that address. It’s a total mess, and that’s exactly what the Democrats want. What I would say is that New Jersey is the tip of the iceberg.
