Massive Fail: Senator Schumer Can’t Recover From This

Is the far Left turning on Senator Chuck Schumer (NY) as it did President Joe Biden? After siding with the GOP to avert a government shutdown, Schumer faced strong hostility from former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and during his appearance on The View.

Pelosi’s criticism was especially wounding: “I myself don’t give away anything for nothing,” referring to the deal Schumer made. Will he be forced out despite canceling a book tour to shift to a damage control tour?

For sure, these far-Left attacks on Schumer feel very orchestrated. And it’s reminiscent of how Biden was forced to step down as the party’s 2024 presidential nominee. The machine pushes out candidates it feels are not relevant to the conversation anymore.

On The View, co-host Sunny Hostin told Schumer directly to his face: “I think you caved.” Schumer retorted, “No one wants to fight more than me and no one fights more than me. You’ve got to fight smart.”

Realistically, what does it mean for Schumer to be pushed out? Most likely, the far Left doesn’t want him to resign from office but be removed from leadership – much like Pelosi is still a Member of Congress but no longer the party’s leader. We will see if Schumer is able to recover from the far Left’s orchestrated attack.

Far-Left judges are also aligned in trying to stop President Trump’s agenda. As we told you, a federal judge tried to block President Trump from flying Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador. Trump ignored the judge’s ruling, declaring, “This is war.”

The situation escalated further after Trump called for the judge involved to be impeached, which compelled Chief Justice John Roberts to rebuke Trump: “For more than two centuries, it has been established that impeachment is not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision. . . . The normal appellate review process exists for that purpose.”

However, Senator Mike Lee (UT) responded to Roberts’ criticism: “Impeachment is a non-justiciable political question assigned by the Constitution to Congress—one of the two political branches of the U.S. government—and not to the courts. Frankly, I’m surprised that Chief Justice Roberts is publicly opining on such matters.”

So is Chief Justice or Senator Lee correct? ACLJ Senior Counsel and Director of Policy Harry Hutchison explained further:

It’s very possible that Senator Mike Lee’s understanding of the Constitution and the constitutional process is to be preferred to that of Chief Justice Roberts, particularly in this case. It’s also important to note that there is a Federal Rule of Civil Procedure, Section 65(c), which says that judges may issue a preliminary injunction if the requesting party posts a bond covering the costs sustained by any party wrongfully enjoined.

In most of these cases [involving President Trump], the federal judges are failing to follow their own procedure. . . . The judges seem to follow some rules when they want to, and they decide not to follow other rules that they perhaps dislike. And so at the end of the day, you have a federal judge saying that terrorists shipped from the borders of the United States to El Salvador must be returned.

Unfortunately, many judges are going beyond the interpretation of the law and interfering with Executive authority, which is a violation of the separation of powers. The phrase separation of powers means the three branches of government have separate powers. The media often conflates this concept with checks and balances, which is a distinct issue.
