Interview Reveals Plan To Abolish Supreme Court

A co-chair of the Democrat Socialists of America (DSA), Megan Romer, just told Fox News’ Shannon Bream of the party’s desire to abolish the U.S. Senate, the presidency itself, and the Supreme Court. Not surprisingly, the DSA also plans to get rid of ICE and our nation’s borders.
The platform is so far to the Left that even a self-avowed socialist like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY-14) is distancing herself. When asked if the Senate should be abolished, she said, “I don’t have the power or ability to do that, it is what it is, we’re working with what we’ve got. . . . These are kind of highfalutin questions that can only be resolved with a constitutional convention of everyday people.”
As reported by Fox News:
A top Democratic socialist leader on Sunday embraced abolishing the Senate, national borders, prisons and more, laying bare the movement’s sweeping agenda as ideological divisions within the Democratic Party continue to deepen.
Speaking to Fox News’ Shannon Bream, Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) national co-chair Megan Romer fired off a series of “yes” and “true” responses when asked whether the organization’s platform calls for dismantling major American institutions.
“[You’re advocating for] abolish[ing] the Senate?” Bream asked.
“True,” Romer responded.
Romer also affirmed the organization’s support for replacing the presidency and Supreme Court, abolishing ICE, eventually eliminating national borders while granting amnesty to people living in the country illegally, defunding the Pentagon, phasing out prisons and shifting most large corporations to public ownership.
She said some proposals, including abolishing borders and prisons, are part of the organization’s long-term vision.
Explaining the push to eliminate the Senate, Romer called the chamber “an anachronistic institution” that was designed to limit the influence of ordinary Americans. . . .
“The Senate was part of the system that was made to make sure that the people didn’t have too much of a say. So we want to expand Congress significantly, but make it a unicameral legislature,” Romer said.
Romer also defended the DSA’s decision to field candidates on the line despite criticism from party leaders who argue the organization should build its own political party.
“The two parties have, over years and decades, created a system where ballot line access is extremely difficult for third parties,” Romer said.
“We run on the Democratic ballot line where it makes sense. We run independents sometimes where that is a viable possibility, but it's a ballot line. What matters is what the voters think, and the voters are overwhelmingly choosing our candidates,” she said.
The comments come as a growing number of prominent Democrats warn the party risks alienating voters by embracing positions championed by the Democratic Socialists of America.
So a DSA’s co-chair just said the quiet part out loud.
They want to abolish the Senate, abolish prisons, abolish the Supreme Court, and abolish the presidency. That’s a big to-do list.
Everything Bream asked, which another Representative or politician might have tried to artfully dodge, Romer responded to with simple affirmatives. Do they want to abolish the Senate? Yes.
Would they really abolish the presidency and Supreme Court as we now know them? Yep. And on it went. Abolish ICE. Absolutely. Abolish borders and give amnesty to anyone currently in the United States illegally. And defund the Pentagon.
So open up the borders and remove our ability to defend ourselves. How could that possibly go wrong?
You’re talking about an actual legitimate political platform right now, which would sound shocking until you remember some of the top leaders of the far Left right now are at least associated with the DSA – if not card-carrying members.
The DSA is legitimately trying to get rid of our constitutional framework as it is. They suggest that maybe we go to something closer to a parliamentary system like in the UK. They’ve had seven Prime Ministers in the last 10 years. Can you imagine the upheaval that would happen in America?
Even journalist Van Jones, a progressive, described the DSA policies as “terrible,” “awful,” and “completely nuts.” At least some prominent voices on the Left are not cowering for fear of losing their influence.
The question is whether far-Left lawmakers will have the sense and the courage to finally say the same thing before these socialist radicals completely hijack their party.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included more discussion of the shocking admissions by a DSA co-chair. We were also joined by Special Presidential Envoy Ric Grenell to discuss the disturbing resurgence of Islamic terror around the world.
