House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries believes the Democrat Party will win back the House, but he warned CNN that the Republicans have a “diabolical scheme” to disrupt the 2026 midterm elections.

As reported:

Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) told CNN he believes the Democrats are “on the verge” of taking back control of the House of Representatives — but he is also paranoid the Republicans have a devious trick up their sleeves to stop it from happening.

Jeffries shared his concern during a Sunday interview with reporter Manu Raju. . . .

Raju asked him if there was something in the back of his mind that makes him worried about it.

“Well, you have to assume, as we’ve done from the very beginning, that Republicans are going to try to come up with any diabolical scheme to prevent Nov. 3 from being a free and fair election,” Jeffries said.

You’d think that at this point we would get past the whole stolen election narrative. But here’s Jeffries making the rounds.

Here’s what Jeffries told Manu Raju:

Jeffries: We’ve been planning from the very beginning to push back against all of the voter suppression efforts that they’ve tried to jam down the throats of the American people. Now up until this point, we’ve successfully stopped their scheming.

Raju: But are you saying that’s the only way they can hold onto power?

Jeffries: I’ve said that from the very beginning!

So according to Jeffries, who could indeed be the next Speaker of the House, there is absolutely no way the far Left can lose except for conservatives cheating. He can’t even accept any other reason.

I’ll give credit to Raju for actually pushing back on Jeffries and making him elaborate on what he was saying, because again, it’s a tired talking point. Why does it have to immediately jump to some sort of illegal scheme?

According to Jeffries, if his party loses, it “proves” that the election was somehow fraudulent. According to him, his party, voters, and policies would have nothing to do with it.

It’s offensive that he’s pushing this paranoid narrative on the American people. Of course, Jeffries also brought up how he is pushing back against so-called election suppression efforts, by which, of course, he’s actually referring to voter ID laws – laws that 80% of Americans want, whether on the Right, Left, or center.

Today’s Sekulow broadcast included more analysis of Rep. Hakeem Jeffries’s delusional claim that the only way for Republicans to win in November is to enact some “diabolical scheme” to influence the outcome. We were also joined by U.S. Special Presidential Envoy Ric Grenell to discuss secret voter ID law meetings between the ACLU and California Governor Gavin Newsom’s lawyers and the California DOJ.
