We are two weeks from Election Day, and election integrity continues to be attacked during the 2024 election cycle. The far Left’s latest attempt to interfere in the election is to keep noncitizens on voting rolls.

We already told you about the Biden-Harris DOJ slapping the state of Virginia with a lawsuit after Gov. Glenn Youngkin rightly removed thousands of names from the voting rolls. As we speak, the ACLJ is preparing an amicus brief in this case when we are able.

And now the state of Florida is filing a lawsuit against the Biden-Harris DOJ for similar election interference. Fox News reports on the massive lawsuit that Gov. Ron DeSantis’ Administration has filed just two weeks before Election Day:

In a lawsuit, obtained first by Fox News Digital, the state argues that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is mandated to respond to an inquiry from state or local governments seeking to verify the immigration status of anyone in their jurisdiction for a purpose authorized by law.

“Because the federal government is refusing to comply with these obligations and frustrating Florida’s ability to maintain the integrity of its elections, Florida files this suit,” the lawsuit says.

Florida says it “has an obligation to maintain accurate and current voter registration records” and also notes the impact of the crisis at the southern border, which brought millions of noncitizens into the U.S.

So just as Gov. Youngkin refused to back down from the DOJ, which is blatantly interfering with Virginia’s election, Gov. DeSantis’ office is also taking the fight right to the Biden-Harris Administration.

Florida’s lawsuit contends that the state is unable to keep track of the immigration status of residents. It must utilize a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) program – Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) – that allows Florida to verify the voting registration status of voters.

However, prior to the 2024 presidential election, DHS has refused to comply with Florida’s request to use the SAVE program. Their lawsuit seeks to force DHS to provide the needed information.

The ACLJ is now preparing an amicus brief in the Florida case to defend election integrity. Nothing is more vital than ensuring a free and fair election – and we will do everything we can to preserve election integrity in Florida, Virginia, and any other state that comes under attack.
