FBI Ordered To “Shut . . . Down” Clinton Foundation Investigation
Listen tothis article
FBI Director Kash Patel’s bombshell memos keep coming. The latest evidence provides a timeline of the Obama DOJ impeding an investigation into whether Secretary of State Hillary Clinton engaged in pay-for-play with the Clinton Foundation. You might recall that the ACLJ uncovered Clinton Foundation corruption in a FOIA request in 2017, just 24 hours before Obama left office.
Our friend John Solomon at Just the News wrote another eye-opening article detailing the evidence implicating the Obama Administration. For instance, in an email from 2017, we find that then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates ordered her staff to “Shut it down!” regarding the investigation into Hillary.
Let’s break down the timeline. The details are quite remarkable. Written by a DOJ attorney assigned to the FBI by former Director James Comey, the timeline includes names like former Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, the aforementioned Sally Yates, and other Obama officials. And even more shocking, the investigations began in 2015, well before the 2016 presidential election cycle began.
These Obama bureaucrats put up roadblocks to the FBI agents (based in field offices in New York City, Little Rock, and Washington, D.C.) who were genuinely trying to conduct a thorough investigation into the Clinton Foundation.
The New York City and D.C. offices had preliminary investigations – the Little Rock office launched a full-fledged one. That’s when the Obama DOJ stymied and shut down the investigations.
For example, in 2016 Andrew McCabe led a conference call, in which he stated that “no overt investigative steps . . . without his approval” were to be taken to look into the Clinton Foundation. To be clear, this meeting took place seven months after the initial investigation was launched into the Clintons.
Then about a month later, Sally Yates explicitly told the Eastern District of Arkansas U.S. Attorney’s Office to “shut it down.” She didn’t want any further investigation conducted. Of course, the Clintons hailed from Arkansas and obviously had close ties.
And keep in mind that a deputy in the Attorney General’s office documented all these facts. And we’re bringing up the Deep State corruption on our broadcast because it must end. It can’t happen again in future presidential elections.
So for conservatives who are criticizing Kash Patel for not being transparent enough, the evidence keeps mounting. The Trump DOJ continues to expose the Obama Administration’s Deep State efforts to subvert President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential election.
The ACLJ also has an update in our fight to defund Planned Parenthood. ACLJ Senior Counsel CeCe Heil elaborated further:
We are once again talking about that case in Massachusetts where Planned Parenthood went after the federal government for its funding freeze, which, of course, Congress can do. It has the power of the purse. It stopped funding to Planned Parenthood and those that provided abortion and got over $800,000 reimbursed for Medicaid. That is absolutely in control of Congress. It can do that. But Planned Parenthood filed in Massachusetts again. It looks for places where it knows that it will have liberal judges who will follow them. Like we talked about this case, this judge, in her opinion in the district court, literally, it was like a Planned Parenthood advertisement. So she enjoined the spending freeze that came out of the budget, which means she is forcing the federal government, our taxpayer funds, to be paid to Planned Parenthood.
And like we said, we’re going to follow this case as far as it goes, and the government has filed its appeal with the First Circuit. And they just filed their motion to stay that injunction, and that means they filed a motion with the appellate court to stop the injunction of the lower court, meaning that that funding freeze, no funds going to Planned Parenthood, remains in effect. And so just this morning, we filed our amicus brief in support of the government’s motion to stay, and right now, we are the only amicus brief that has been filed in support of this.
The ACLJ has been at the forefront of the battle to defund Planned Parenthood for years. As CeCe said, we filed an amicus brief in this case, arguing that Congress has both the constitutional authority and the moral obligation to ensure that taxpayer dollars do not subsidize the destruction of innocent human life.
And the fight to defund Planned Parenthood is far from over. We need your support. Sign our petition to defund Planned Parenthood, and then donate during our 35 Years of Victory Drive – gifts are doubled.
Today’s Sekulow broadcast included a full analysis of the bombshell timeline that incriminates the Obama Administration for shutting down investigations into the Clinton Foundation. ACLJ Senior Advisor for National Security and Foreign Policy Ric Grenell gave an update on the Kennedy Center Honors.
