Far Left Politicizes Hurricane Devastation

Hurricane Milton hit landfall yesterday, and it looks like Florida – as usual – had a good plan of action. Still, the damage has been extensive, especially after 150 tornadoes ripped through Florida. As of our broadcast today, millions remain without power. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those in Florida.

Amid such tragedies, hurricanes and other natural disasters shouldn’t be politicized. When we’re talking about helping Americans, we shouldn’t be motivated by political gain. But try to tell that to the far Left, who is politicizing the devastation of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.

For instance, the Biden-Harris Administration is claiming that Republicans have been spreading misinformation about hurricane relief. Of course, the mainstream media is also piling on.

We now live in a world where words don’t mean what they typically mean. When you hear misinformation, you most likely think of “fake news” or “falsehoods.” Yet the far Left has hijacked the term and twisted the meaning to condemn Republicans’ warnings of scam artists.

Congressional Republicans have been issuing the usual warnings that accompany natural disasters of being wary of those who show up at your door to offer assistance. Be careful of what you see advertised on social media as disaster relief because you could be ripped off.

Yet the media and Biden-Harris Administration are accusing Republicans of creating fear and chaos amid hurricane victims. It’s shameful how they’ve twisted the term misinformation for their own political gain.

Another way the Biden-Harris Administration is politicizing the hurricane is by dropping a video of a phone call between VP Harris and a FEMA administrator. I’m a video professional – I make videos for a living, and Kamala’s video was just poorly cobbled-together government propaganda.

Her campaign could have done a much better job. The VP should have taped herself standing behind a podium, delivering updates on hurricane relief that she read off a teleprompter. Instead, we have a skit being performed by Harris and a FEMA administrator to make it look like VP Harris is in charge.

How do you think people suffering and without power will respond to this video? On the other hand, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis displayed steady leadership and ensured that Floridians were prepared for Hurricane Milton.

The Biden-Harris Administration and mainstream media are also spinning its narrative of a strong economy and cooling inflation. ACLJ Senior Counsel and Director of Policy Harry Hutchison responded to the latest U.S. inflation report:

Keep in mind core inflation rose by 3.3%. Also . . . despite the rise in stock prices on Wednesday – stock prices hit another record on Wednesday – food prices posted their largest monthly gain since January, while egg prices rose 8.4%. Also keep in mind that while energy prices came down a bit in the September numbers, oil prices are likely to rise sharply should Israel attack Iran. . . . New research shows that America is not headed toward a recession. Why is that? Because America is already in a recession. So if you look at inflation-adjusted numbers over the last two years, we have seen negative growth. For instance, durable goods production rose statistically by 7.5% in nominal terms but has actually fallen by 13.4%. Once you adjust those numbers for inflation, retail sales rose by 23%. But in real terms, they only rose by 3.2%.

You also hear about Harris’ plan to ban “price gouging.” However, the American people are paying the price for the Administration’s economic failures. Instead of owning up to the mistakes of the past 3.5 years, Kamala is doubling down on the same economic policies.

If we can get our supply chains and production thriving again in America, we can get prices under control again. Ironically, the Biden-Harris Administration and mainstream media are engaging in their own form of misinformation regarding the economy.
