Big Trouble for Kamala Harris?
Listen tothis article
The next presidential election is only 3 weeks away, and President Biden and his team are still struggling with being pushed off the nomination. Sources close to the White House and the Harris campaign reported to Axios a growing “tension” between President Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ teams. Is anyone in the White House examining the impact of conflicting messaging?
Typically, you’d expect the White House to be aligned with the presidential campaign. At the very least, you’d coordinate to present as a unified team. Biden wouldn’t be scheduling a press conference during a Harris campaign event. You wouldn’t be giving mixed messaging on the economy. Even in their reactions to Florida Governor DeSantis’ hurricane response are disjointed – Harris criticized DeSantis, while Biden praised him.
While conflicting information is coming from the White House, we are only a few weeks from the election and it’s important to get the right information into the hands of your friends and family before they vote. Early voting has already started in some states and will begin in other states this week. Vote early and in person if possible and then encourage everyone you know to register and vote.
While Harris and Walz are struggling to find a consistent campaign message, JD Vance continues to address tough questions. He just interviewed with ABC News’ Martha Raddatz and answered questions about the Venezuelan gangs’ takeover of complexes in Aurora. Vance responded:
Unfortunately, when you let people in by the millions, most of whom are unvetted, most of whom you don't know who they really are, you're going to have problems like this.
Kamala Harris, 94 executive orders that undid Donald Trump's successful border policies. We knew this stuff would happen. . . .We can do so much better, but frankly, we're not going to do better, Martha, unless Donald Trump calls this stuff out. I'm glad that he did.
We are talking about whole complexes being taken over by armed Venezuelans, but the mainstream media wants you to believe we should not be talking about this as failed border policy. It’s like they are accepting that this is the future of America. The American people should be focused on innovation, not on fearing our own destruction.
We are also seeing some bizarre moments from the Harris campaign. Walz did a video showing him using a gun, as though trying to make himself out to be some outdoorsy everyman, and yet it appeared as though he didn’t know what he was doing. Former Acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell joined us with his take on the ever-shifting focus of the Harris-Walz campaign:
I think this whole Kamala-Walz campaign is proven to be fake grassroots. It’s not real. It’s astroturf. And when you step on it, and you feel it, and it’s supposed to be this authentic grassroots – it’s plastic, and it’s phony and it doesn’t need any watering because it’s not real. And so, I think people see it. . . .I’ve noticed this poll data showing that young people are turning away from the Democratic Party like never before. And one of the reasons why is they are genuinely interested in authenticity.
I think people are smelling this inauthentic behavior and there’s beginning to be a panic.
So why is it that Donald Trump connects with the people? It may not make sense to some. After all, he’s a New York billionaire, but he’s also not focused on creating fake moments. He’s authentic. We need to do away with this old form of politics. The Harris campaign is having to constantly shift strategies as they contend with internal troubles.
President Trump is hitting the campaign trail, even in places not considered swing states. But Harris is only focused on swing states. And we know what the narrative will be if Trump wins. They’ll try to say Harris won the popular vote. No matter the outcome – there are two major paths forward that sit in stark contrast. So, if you believe this election is consequential for a path forward for our country, voting for your candidates in state races is just as important as voting for the President.
Concerns around voting may not be as severe as four years ago, but we know there are still issues. There are already ballots going out to people who should not receive them. Even a member of our ACLJ who moved out of California four years ago still just received a California ballot at their new address in a different state. There’s also a lawsuit in Virginia where thousands of noncitizen voters who were still on the voting roles were were removed. The Biden-Harris DOJ came in and sued the governor, saying the decision to remove the noncitizen voters was made too late. They are trying to manipulate the system and play politics.
At the ACLJ, we're dedicated to defending your right to vote and the integrity of our elections. Our legal team is already fighting in battleground states and filing FOIA lawsuits. And we're prepared to go back to the Supreme Court if necessary.
