A new border security deal has been reached—in principle, at least--between bipartisan negotiators.

On today’s show, we discussed a possible new agreement of the bipartisan conference committee that could provide both border security and avoid another partial government shutdown. The big question is, what’s actually in it?

What we’re told is that this new deal does not include the full $5.7 billion the President is looking for to build the wall along our southern border with Mexico, but instead contains $1.375 billion.

One thing we know the Left reportedly attempted to slip into the bill is a cap on the amount of beds in detention centers in order to reduce the number of criminal aliens who can be held.

The legislative text has not been sent to the White House yet, but President Trump has already told the press this morning he’s not thrilled with it, stating bluntly, “No, I’m not happy.”

However, the President did say he sees this as progress and doesn’t anticipate another government shutdown.

If the rest of the deal is acceptable, the President could sign it, even with the $1.375 billion, and turn to other options for wall funding, including declaring a National Emergency.

We also updated you on Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, who, as we discussed yesterday, tweeted anti-Semitic remarks. Rep. Omar issued an apology shortly after our broadcast.

However, after “unequivocally” apologizing for her comments, she went on to continue criticizing AIPAC, the largest bipartisan pro-Israel group in the United States.

Representative Omar, this apology is not much of an apology at all, and we don’t accept it.

Actions speak louder than words, and later the same day, Omar retweeted another comment attacking APIAC. So how sorry is she? Her language and her actions are a “dog whistle” to other anti-Semites.

If Rep. Omar has so much to learn about anti-Semitism and bigotry, she should NOT be sitting on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, or receiving classified information.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi also finally addressed Omar’s tweets, issuing a statement condemning Omar’s tweets and demanding she apologize for her “hurtful comments."

While we appreciate Speaker Pelosi’s statement, it is not enough. Rep. Omar needs to be removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
