Is the Administration Playing Fast and Loose With National Security—and Your Safety?

Last week a Texas Department of Public Safety state trooper stopped a car suspected of smuggling people into the United States.  There were five illegal migrants in the car, some in the trunk, plus the driver, a U.S. citizen.  Among the illegals in the vehicle, one was on the Terrorism Watchlist.  Twenty-nine-year-old Alireza Heidari is an Iranian citizen.  He is the 39th individual on the terror watchlist apprehended since the fiscal year began on October 1, 2022.  Last year, under the chaotic border policies of the Biden Administration, 98 people on the watchlist were apprehended.  The year before President Biden took office, 15 people connected to terrorism were apprehended.  The year before that, there were only three.

The Terrorism Watchlist is a record managed by the Terrorist Screening Center within the National Security Division of the FBI.  It is a list of known and suspected people connected to terrorism.

What is just as alarming—and catching terrorists should be alarming to everyone—is that the Iranian, Heidari, was not apprehended by federal authorities.  The diligence of a state trooper led to his capture.  He was one of the “unknown gotaways.”  Known gotaways are those whom authorities saw illegally crossing the border but were not able to apprehend.  In addition to known gotaways, there is an untold number of gotaways who were not observed illegally entering the United States.  Heidari was one of them.

Since October 1 of last year, 304,045 got-aways were reported by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the media.  That is an average of over 2,400 per day.  Think about that!  And we literally do not know how many of them, like Heidari, are connected to terrorism and wish the United States harm.  Since Joe Biden became President, over 1.2 million illegal migrants are known to have evaded capture and gotten away.  Again, we do not know how many of them are terrorists.

We are at risk of a major terrorist attack.  That is a sobering reality, not an exaggeration.  If we have another terror attack on the scale of 9/11, we will not need another 9/11 Commission to investigate how it happened.  We will know because it will be a direct result of the Biden Administration’s willful failure to secure our border and their unwillingness to enforce standing immigration laws.

The border is porous.  Biden refuses to finish the wall.  The world knows that anyone can readily and illegally enter the United States.  If they are apprehended, there is a good chance they can stay here anyway.  If they are not caught, they join the ranks of over a million people who are now untraceable and living in the U.S. Obviously, terrorists do not turn themselves in to border patrol.  They join the ranks of the got-aways.  We know they are here; we just don't know how many, whom, or where.  That is a serious threat to national security.  It is also a threat to your personal safety and the safety of those you love.
